I have many questions around it though -
How can the US be sure nuclear capability is destroyed? Is Iran going to cooperate with checks? I’m assuming this is the reason (officially) for the US strikes and the rest was garbled garbage. But how can anyone trust the US when they seemingly just stopped negotiating on nuclear stuff and instead went ‘nuclear’ themselves - where does this put future discussions?
But was Israel attacking Iran for this outcome - I thought it was to destroy terror leaders? Or possibly drive regime change? Is this outcome assured? Or no longer wanted? Why is Netanyahu suddenly allowing Trump to control Israel’s plan?
What did Trump do to achieve ceasefire agreement? Was it a literal nuclear threat? I appreciate Iran is militarily vulnerable but what can he threaten Israel with?
Why do they need 6 hours to wind down - weren’t missions/bombs unable to be stopped - I think there may be a real reason for this that I just don’t know about.
So I’m glad if it’s done and perhaps there are no answers I could understand being less than knowledgeable about military operations and the international political sphere, but then I can’t help but think it was a terrible way for all the old guys to Willy wave at each other - such a waste of resources and sadly life.
