Bahrain warns drivers to stay off main roads after US strikes in Iran
The island kingdom of Bahrain, in a warning that shows the growing concern in the Gulf Arab states, told drivers to stay off main roads if possible.
Bahrain’s Interior Ministry wrote on X: “In light of recent developments in the regional security situation, we urge citizens and residents to use main roads only when necessary, to maintain public safety and to allow the relevant authorities to use the roads efficiently.”
Bahrain is home to the U.S. Navy’s Mideast-based 5th Fleet and long been a threatened target of Iran.

Woke up to the news, wasn't surprised, but I thought it would be at least a few more days.. so much for ending wars..

Without wanting to be a doom-monger, The Mooch raised a worrying point when talking about the potential bombing of Fordow - if there are underground water reservoirs/aquifers in the area could those be contaminated with radioactive material in the event of a bombing raid? This could lead to polluted water entering water supplies and even the Gulf itself.

In a region reliant on water desalination for its supplies this could be disastrous.

For those interested, Alistair and Rory are doing an emergency pod on YouTube at 9.30 this morning.

Iran are claiming that the site had been evacuated and all radioactive material removed sometime before the bombing which would seem to be supported by the IAEA saying no increase in radioactivity in the area

Guess the IAEA and Saudi Oman Qatar etc are all keeping a close eye on water in the Gulf for contamination

But who knows

I tend to agree with this assessment. Iran will probably bide its time.
