Left pan on stove and burnt it!

I’m dog sitting for my mum and I boiled some water this morning to boil some chicken for the dog but then I logged into work and forgot about the water. The stove now has a ring on it from the pan. I’m stressing, can I sort this out? Can I get it off or is it ruined?

I'd try either vinegar and water or baking soda and water, leave on for a while then clean off. Careful what you scrub with, I wouldn't use a metal scourer

Please don't worry, OP, those induction hobs are tougher than you think. Baking soda and vinegar as PP suggested or probably even plain old diluted washing up liquid in hot water will do the trick.

Good luck!

Although, I'm kind of expecting another post in which you tell us that it's locked itself now because you passed a wet sponge over it in a way that offended its sensibilities and it is now bleeping at you. In which case, you have to hold down the touch pad next to the icon of a padlock or whichever similar looking, 'locking' symbol for much longer than you think. They say six seconds is enough but I always count slowly to at least ten or fifteen.

Sorry! Typo. Vinegar OR baking soda.
