I was going to ask Haagan Dazs or Ben & Jerry's (I prefer HD) but then realised there are MANY other brands. I had HD vanilla caramel brownie yesterday for the first time and it's really good.

Well it as Ben & Jerrys Phish food, but I no longer buy their ice cream after their affiliation with The Good Law Project and rejection of the Supreme Court Ruling. I’ll buy the Aldi ripoff Cheeky Monkey thank you very much.

Wasn't aware of this

what's the Aldi one like?

All supermarket ice cream is bollocks compared to fresh. I don’t bother eating it unless I’m on holiday in Cornwall where I eat a Roskillys every day.

CatteryCatz · 14/06/2025 18:14

Another vote for Mackie’s cream ice cream. I love the Magnum double raspberry too.

Lemon ice cream from a gelateria near the Trevi fountain.

Pieceofpurplesky · 14/06/2025 18:21

Cheshire Ice Cream farm Turkish Delight in a tub with a scoop of chocolate chip.

i also once had some burnt butter ice cream and I can still taste how magnificent it was!

Pianoaholic · 14/06/2025 18:48

Another vote for Joe's with chopped nuts and raspberry sauce. I've only ever seen it in Swansea where I had lots of childhood holidays as my mum was from there.
Also like pistachio flavour.

Ah you beat me to it. Cheshire Farm is by far the best ice cream. It's so rich and creamy its just delicious. Their honeycomb is amazing!!!!

TheChosenTwo · 14/06/2025 19:19

From the shops it would be the Crosta and Mollica mascarpone and cherry.

But outside of that nothing will come close to one I had in Italy, a silky salted caramel 😭

I do also like a Cornish chocolate ice cream with a dollop of clotted cream.

I probably only have one ice cream a year, they mostly a disappointment so I don’t really bother.

Great actually! And cheap.

Magicalbeaver · 14/06/2025 19:37

English Lakes Sticky Toffee pudding!

Or their Vanilla. Aldi's Madagascan vanilla is nice too. And any brand Cookie Dough.

Gogreengoblin · 14/06/2025 19:40

Marshfield icecream, blackcurrants and cream flavour.

NotMyRealAccount · 14/06/2025 19:41

Pleased to see a couple of votes already for English Lakes Thunder and Lightning, which is also my favourite, though their blackcurrant cream runs it a close second.

LivelyMintViper · 14/06/2025 19:42

Maple walnut (haven't seen it for years)

evtheria · 14/06/2025 19:43

Ben & Jerry: Cherry Garcia or Cookie Dough
No brand in particular: southeast Asian ‘red bean’ flavour. Very satisfying!
Otherwise it’s the Amarena Cherry one by a local ice cream maker. Not saying their name because the queue is long enough as it is 😡😄

napody · 14/06/2025 19:44

Waitrose coconut and lime

Blabla81 · 14/06/2025 19:45

Kelly’s Rum and Raisin. Can’t really find it anywhere in tubs, though.

Sarkyandcynical · 14/06/2025 19:56

For all of you that like coffee ice cream, Haagen Dazs does a coffee ice cream. Used to not be available in the UK n]but it’s now stocked in Tesco and Ocado. It’s lush!

BCBird · 14/06/2025 20:26

Not a massive icecream fan but once I had mince pie flavour in Anglesey. Think it was the Red Boat icecream. Delicious. Happy days

Gownie · 14/06/2025 20:33

I love Porelli mint choc chip, Lime Tree Larder ginger, Lochhill Dairy rum and raisin, but they're all local to me. From the supermarkets:

Morrisons The Best Caffe Latte Ice Cream (cream milk sugar egg coffee)

Hackney Gelato Banana, Caramel & Pecan (Sainsbury)

Hagen Daz strawberry shortcake

Frazzledandfried · 14/06/2025 20:34

Richandstrange · 14/06/2025 13:41

From the supermarket it's Haagen Daz, either strawberries & cream or salted caramel but my all time favourite is Hockings vanilla, sadly only sold in Devon where they're based Sad

I was wondering if anyone was going to say Hocking's! Lucky enough to live in North Devon, quite often have a tub in the freezer! Best ice cream ever.

QuestionsAndAnswers123 · 14/06/2025 20:38

I’m unbelievably basic so will have to opt for either Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough or netflix&chilld or Haagen dasz salted caramel

I do also love the gold magnums and the white Biscoff ice cream sticks

Fartughtyred · 14/06/2025 20:42

Lidl Bon gelato dark chocolate is absolutely delicious and I'm not a great fan of chocolate normally!

Catsinaflat · 14/06/2025 20:50

Brickells is my favourite. No nasty additives just pure ice cream. It is a bit pricey but absolutely worth it!

staybyyou · 14/06/2025 20:56

@LivelyMintViperi came on to say Baboo Walnut & Maple. It is honestly the best thing I’ve tasted in years. Based in West Dorset, but I think you can order it online.

Joe’s vanilla with chocolate sprinkles

Nuts for me
