Just come into emergency accommodation and I feel so low

I’ve come into emergency accommodation with my children (one child is still on holiday with her dad but my son is with me) I feel so low and like I let them down. How am I almost 30 and I am in this situation😭. I feel so low. Everyone here see ex cons and all sorts. I’m sorry I’m judging but it is true I have seen them. I know it’s cause it’s change but honestly I feel heart broken. I’m told I could be here for 7-9 months. In a hotel room. With two kids. I’m out of the area that is normal for me so it all feels strange I’m so low.

If only…. I’m a single mum with no help my daughter works school hours I work full time and I ended up here because of domestic abuse and being put into debt. Renting would cost double what it would on the council. Private rent would leave me in the - each month trust me I worked it out this was last resort.

Sorry to hear this and hope you get housed soon. You may be eligible to apply for grants from the council and also apply for Universal credit to see if they can help, they also have a hardship fund as well to help you get a small fridge or some appliances.

What a tactless comment. Are you not aware of the current dire housing situation in Britain? Rented housing is in meltdown. I'm also homeless through no fault of my own.

How come you ended up in emergency accommodation? Were you not paying rent? If you are working, try and private rent and work more hours to improve your situation.

Just want to send all the love @cheekycee and others in the same situation. I've known a couple of people in the same situation, and it's been very difficult for them, but they are out the other side and thriving 💕

A soup maker is a great idea. The lack of cooking facilities makes me so angry. It must feel expensive and exhausting having to cope around that.
Do you have washing facilities ?

Have you let the children schools know? I am sure they will want to support in any way they can
