Fuck off seriously Confused

how much of a twatty area do you live in that the above are NORMAL names

even more beggaring belief is that BENJAMIN was the bloody dogs name Shock

No idea what type of kid ‘Anfer’ was - could have been either a girl, boy or ‘fluid’ at about 4 years old

I’m not outing myself in my area by the way by posting this, I’m on a campsite

I met a Ryder and really wanted to ask if it was after Shaun or Paw Patrol

You're sure of the spelling? I was thinking that the author of "King Solomon's Mines" and "She" was "Rider Haggard" but apparently he had Henry as his actual first name, and the "Rider" was inherited from his father William Meybohm Rider Haggard (whose mother was a Meybohm - still don't know where the "Rider" came from).

I’ll see your Mist and Anfer and raise you a Zebedee, seen at a park in Cheltenham, I had to refrain from asking if she had chosen it from the Magic Roundabout.

Zebedee is a biblical name. I knew one when I was a child.

Misty is a perfectly normal name. I assume Mist is probably short for that. Anfer is different but that's just because I've never heard of it. Could also be a nickname. Benjamin is a great name for a dog. They all have human names these days.

There is a little girl in our road who has the nickname “pinky”.

Stolenyouth · 09/06/2025 05:12

Pinky is a pretty usual Indian name. I know a couple and a Priti and a Dimple. Also a Precious who is Ghanaian.

Quite.

Look up the reason Rolls Royce had to change the name of one of their models from Silver Mist to Silver Shadow at the last minute.

What does Mist mean in Germany ?, I have no idea, cheers.

Chersfrozenface · 09/06/2025 10:55

'mist' in German is one of the words for muck, manure, dung, crap.

MrsAvocet · 09/06/2025 11:08

I have a Mexican friend called Anafer. I could imagine it sounding like Anfer in some accents. I've noticed that quite a lot of the "hilarious" names people mock on threads like this are actually just not English.

Was his mum telling him it was time for bed? OMG I'd have died... 😂
