Thinking of a visit. So can we

Spend a few hours there or is it 1 hour and you're done?

Grab lunch, what's there?

Prices, are they outlet prices, will we grab some bargains?

@lilao No M&S (although the foodhall is opposite). They do have a few cheaper brands but it’s not outlet for standard high street. Most people look at the store list before going.

Did you read what I wrote? I live in Bicester and was correcting someone who said there was an M&S and Haribo. I’m aware of what’s available.

Sortalike · 22/05/2025 12:18

I'm 20 minutes away, although I probably only go a couple times a year, it's expensive and a bit OTT in terms of clothes for me personally.

Swindon is much better (and it's undercover so a much nicer experience Bicester is crap if it's raining)

@BeNiceWhenItsFinished
what twaddle!

TizerorFizz · 22/05/2025 12:35

@lilao Er? I’m agreeing with you!!!

If you want M&S and various other high street outlets, then try the Galleria at Hatfield instead. It is literally right on the A1M so easy to get to. And when I say 'literally', it is. The motorway runs in a tunnel underneath it.

There’s virtually nothing there apart from empty space now. 30 mins max needed!

bge · 22/05/2025 12:47

Gunwharf in Portsmouth also has a Le Creuset. And Ralph Lauren etc as well as haribo and Lindt! Plus havaianas and all the usual outlet shops. I love it

TizerorFizz · 22/05/2025 12:50

The Galleria has been grim for 20 years!

If you make an effort to go to BV check the shops are what you want. What’s the point of going if you never want anything from who is there? I like it being outside. Much nicer atmosphere and beautiful flower arrangements. Universally clean loos too!

Is it? I didn't know that - I've not been for years.

It’s a real shadow of its former self. It’s certainly not a destination shopping place as you probably knew it as

Mercurial123 · 22/05/2025 16:01

Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth Harbour is pretty reasonable as it has mostly high street outler shops with a few designer thrown in.

TizerorFizz · 21/05/2025 23:48

@Railingsst What a load of rubbish! I go regularly and this is just a stupid comment. Braying over what? It’s mostly overseas visitors and a few ladies looking for bargains. As we do. Yes a few Essex girls but braying? Bizarre. You need to meet a few more people!

Stop being so condescending, just because you've never experienced it doesn't mean others haven't. The last time I had the misfortune to visit, some awful bloke was standing in Cath Kidston literally waving at half the stock and summoning the staff to have it wrapped and bagged for him . He was definitely braying and I bet he drove a Jag .

What's with the 'Essex girls' slur fgs?

SmokyWood · 22/05/2025 22:11

I find it good for cosmetics - I love stocking up in the Clarins and Charlotte Tilbury stores. Emma Bridgewater store is lovely too. It’s beautifully designed so although I can rarely afford much it’s nice for a wander and a Pret or Itsu lunch. It does get very busy but I was there the other week around 5pm and it was fine.

TizerorFizz · 22/05/2025 22:23

@Railingsst Now you really are odd! Kath Kidston closed years ago. Drove a Jag? That’s a braying type car is it? You haven’t been for years have you? Don’t take this seriously anyone! A man buying up KK, braying, and possibly drives a jag! Oh dear. Have fun everyone. It’s a great shopping day out.

AnonMJ · 22/05/2025 22:28

Gunwharf in Portsmouth is worth a visit. Could make a day of it

bicester was 💩 when I was there a few years ago. Quite enjoyable 10 years ago but sadly seems to have gone downhill from what I’ve read on here

lipsticksndanimal · 22/05/2025 06:46

Bicester is high end now and always busy. It used to have more high street style shops about 20 odd years ago. I used to sell new build houses in Bicester and would swing in for half an hour before work. There used to be a Monsoon and my children had lots of bargains from there, also had a Clarks shoe outlet next to a little play park.

Yes it was good then. Viners shop too

prefer Swindon now

Download the app.
I think you may be able to get 10% off everything including food. Not sure if it still applies but have a look.

Icebreakhell · 23/05/2025 08:19

It’s in a league of its own. You can get Jo Malone and White Co stuff a bit cheaper. I love the Ralph Lauren store.

Fgs, I said I don't go there any more because it's so flippin awful. Why are you so determined to try and undermine my experience, are you on the board of BV or something? You seem very overly invested in dismissing what I've said, if you like going there then go there to your hearts content. I'm just relaying how I feel about it to people who asked what it's like, my post describes my view, you can protest all you like but it's what happened and what I observed 🤨
