Thinking of a visit. So can we

Spend a few hours there or is it 1 hour and you're done?

Grab lunch, what's there?

Prices, are they outlet prices, will we grab some bargains?

It's grim. Don't do it.

Oooh possibly... having a slow flashback.

Every time we pass a sign for Bicester now my DH says “By-ceeeess-teeerrr” in the local farming accent 😂

PluckyBamboo · 21/05/2025 19:26

Missing the point but how do you pronounce it?

Bister?

Scottish person in me reads it as By-Chester!

Bicester - rhymes with sister

giddyauntie123 · 21/05/2025 22:54

I second Gunwharf ! The M&S and Adidas stores are great

@Railingsst You think the really rich there! Don’t be so daft. Braying? Really? Yes. It’s tourists - but why not? You need to avoid peak times and go later. It’s best after 3pm. I still enjoy going.

Yes braying, never going back , it's my idea of hell and I went there loads years ago so know all about the times thanks but no thanks

Railingsst · 21/05/2025 23:01

The station is rather fabulous though!

Shoemadlady · 21/05/2025 23:45

Bicester is high end. It may be cheaper than the normal shops but it’s not a normal “outlet” cheap place! Last time I was there, there was a D&G shop with a discounted dress that was still 6,500.

TizerorFizz · 21/05/2025 23:48

@Railingsst What a load of rubbish! I go regularly and this is just a stupid comment. Braying over what? It’s mostly overseas visitors and a few ladies looking for bargains. As we do. Yes a few Essex girls but braying? Bizarre. You need to meet a few more people!

MissSookieStackhouse · 22/05/2025 00:37

I was disappointed when I went there. Lots of high end brands selling some really ugly clothes - the weird shit they couldn’t shift at full price, but still hugely expensive even when discounted.

lipsticksndanimal · 22/05/2025 06:46

Bicester is high end now and always busy. It used to have more high street style shops about 20 odd years ago. I used to sell new build houses in Bicester and would swing in for half an hour before work. There used to be a Monsoon and my children had lots of bargains from there, also had a Clarks shoe outlet next to a little play park.

Tollington · 22/05/2025 07:09

It’s where brands sell products that didn’t meet quality control standards. Cheaper for a reason.

Personally I prefer the McArthur Glen outlet in Swindon as it has a much bigger range but if you're looking for designer items then it is worth spending a couple of hours there. I have had plenty of times I've not bought anything there but have got the odd very good deal at DKNY and Gucci. It gets absolutely heaving busy though so I'd definitely recommend going early. I remember not being able to get a table in Pret last time I went and like a PP said the Pret there is massive.

And you can sit and have a coffee be t to a steam train. Loved it!

Incorrect information.

A lot of the products are produced specifically to be sold in outlets (Gucci especially) or they're past season.

Sesma · 22/05/2025 07:21

Sort of like a high end TK Maxx, they sell Le Creuset but not generally in any colours that are on their website or shops like JL.

Stepfordian · 22/05/2025 07:22

I never spend less than £300 when I go there, it’s high end, it’s not like any other outlet I’ve been to. There are some affordable shops amongst the Dior, Dolce and Gabbana and Christian Laboutin stuff. Download their app and scan it every time you buy something and they give you pretty good free gifts throughout the day. I like the Tui pasta place at the top end for food.

Toddlerteaplease · 22/05/2025 07:26

@chunkyblightersame here! I gave up and went to pizza express in Bicester instead.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 22/05/2025 07:26

@BeNiceWhenItsFinished

You
Have to Be having al joke recommending the galleria

It used to be
Good ten years ago

Bloody
Awful
Now literally empty

The one near Chelmsford is good
As is Portsmouth

However Bicester is very high end so unless you actually have the cash to spend your better off at blue water or lakeside.

Sesma · 22/05/2025 07:27

Isn't there a Emma Bridgewater shop there, I would probably visit that and come home with some mugs and plates

There’s also a Le Creuset!

Koazy · 22/05/2025 08:05

It’s ££££. Gunwharf is a hundred times better unless you want a Prada handbag for 5k rather than 7k

Sesma · 22/05/2025 08:20

Rickeeeeeeeeee · 22/05/2025 07:51

Last time I went to an outlet, I got some lovely lidded soup bowls from Le Creuset, so I would go there as well.

familyissues12345 · 22/05/2025 08:21

Personally we didn’t really enjoy it and left after an hour or so. We do like Swindon and Gunwharf quays though (we live midway between the two)

Sesma · 22/05/2025 08:21

What are you hoping to buy OP.

Haven't been for a couple of years, so unless it's changed dramatically in that period, I didn't find it all high end labels.

There's a nice villeroy and boch, haribo, Tommy Hilfiger which has a great reduced kids bit, Timberland, some other kids salon type bit where DD got the best kenzo trousers for a few quid.

There was a Jimmy Choo, I think the Chandra bags were like £450...I think full retail was about £800. They were a bit scruffy though, like 500 people had picked them up and chucked them back down.

There's a fab M&S where I got loads for the kids. Also Tory Burch which seemed to have about 40% off.

Some bits are "designer" most of it wasn't. No, there isn't a Primark, it's stuff that's worth enough to have a decent discount on it - but that doesn't mean everything is Gucci.

I live in Bicester and it’s NEVER had a Haribo or M&S so think you might have been in the wrong place
