What small things make your day ?

I’ve just been on my daily walk through some fields and spotted a fox running through fields. I watched it for ages.
Beautiful creature.
Totally made my day and was lovely to just be in the moment watching nature.
What small things make your day ?

Love all of these !Simple but give lots of pleasure.

When my toast is just the right toastiness it I make my coffee the exact right strength (for me - DH prefers it hair tingling strong !)

• meeting a nice dog and getting to pet it
• sunshine when it glitters on the sea
• when my curls last more than a day
• coffee with my best friend and how hard she can make me laugh
• hearing the kids laughing when I’m not there, knowing they’re having fun together
• trees going green
• hearing the back door shut knowing my husbands home from work
• when we play a board game as a family after tea on a Saturday
• when we’re all safe in bed at the end of the day
• finding something ace in the charity shop
• lihhting a candle after cleaning and having a sit and a coffee
• nimrod by Elgar or any amazing piece of music really loud
• singing in a choir
• Christmas Eve when everything’s done and you know tomorrow you get to see the kids faces

Those really brought a smile to my face.
Wonderful !

Getting post
Breakfast. I love breakfast.
Getting into bed with DH and knowing he is safe and well.

Seeing baby bunnies in my garden early this morning. Later after coming in from a very hard day's work grubby and achy, then after having shower, washing hair and finally having that cup of tea, knowing it was all over for the day, and I could finally put my feet up.

On my dog walk, listening to the bird song and looking at the wild flowers.

What a lovely thread

Two lovely plump hedgehogs were noisily rummaging in the garden last night.
I’ve put some cat food out for them this evening and topped up all the water bowls.

They must be finding it difficult to get fresh water at the moment. Same for the birds.

Having a chat with a bumble bee or robin.

Today:

someone holding the door open for me because I I had my hands full

i took some sweets to some colleagues and we had a laugh and enjoyed The treat together.

I upped my weights on a machine at the gym

I ate healthily.

I had a great WhatsApp chat with my DDs dp who I love.

(and his team won an important football match which made him happy)

i listened to my favourite podcast and it made me laugh / amazed.

I had a blow dry and a right laugh with my hairdresser.

Being out for a walk and having a dog walk towards me with a big grin - even better if it comes for a fuss, and double points for goldies/labs ❤️

Oh yes..seeing a Vizsla

At the moment as the weather has been so good - seeing my kids go out to play straight after school. Hearing them laughing together when they come to play in the garden.
walking the dog and meeting up with other dogs who are happy to have a run around with him. Seeing him tired and content when we get home.
having a productive day at work and knowing I’m ahead.

Probably birds. Hearing wood pigeons start up in the Spring. Hearing crows cawing. Hearing the geese fly over the house to nest for the night.

The front hedge is wild. We knew there was a nest so havent cut it back. They have hatched. I feel so proud! I love watching the blackbirds feed the chicks. The chicks are loud so I do worry about them.

I bought a set of matching tupperware and now my fridge looks Pinterest worthy!

I was working from home today and I emailed my boss to let her know what I’d been doing all day (newish job). Her response was so kind, she trusts me to do my job and doesn’t question my time management or competence. I could have cried after leaving a job where my boss micromanaged every single part of my day. Such a small thing but made my day.

Most of mine have already been said. Which has been really nice to read too, so many of us connected through simple things and great achievements and are happy for eachother for it.

I had many things come to mind but I'll just add this: (TLDR: my teenage sons considering me and including me in their days!)

My teenage sons. We get on amazing but when they offer to make me a cuppa or come in and offer me some of the snacks they've bought from the shop. It might just be a crisp or some sweets but it's that they've considered me and want me to try the new flavour/have some anyway.

When my 18 year old comes and sits on the bed at night and tells me how his day has went, what he's working towards and how he's going to do it etc. I would stay up until midnight just to be in that moment with him.

When my 16 year old asks me to come watch him do this thing on his computer game. Wants me to try this new car he's got on it and to see who can get the best lap times. When he explains what this and that does and why they're good/bad...
Just those mum/son moments that happen alot but still mean more to me than they know.

@NewyorkladyI’ll hold that vision as my entire family are set on moving from a big city to the countryside - I’m terrified and need encouragement like this…

That would probably be mine too @Sasha07 Love spending time with my grown up (ish) kids. I turn into a kid again and let them boss me about and teach me stuff. We laugh so much.

Oh wow - these are beautiful!

And I love how the majority are about nature (bolstering my impending move from a city to the countryside!).

I was putting my daughter’s dressing gown back on its hanger the other day and it was still warm from her wearing it. That moment made me smile and feel exceptionally grateful ❤️
