Idiotam habemus - Trumpum the Bigly XXX - Trump thread #143

No grey smoke necessary.

First 100 days have come and gone. Vance has killed the Pope, Musk is melting away and Trump's tariffs are on a slow boat to China.

Coming soon... Bigly's Birthday Parade. What could possibly go wrong?

I saw here that the Trump camp were using Biden's cancer diagnosis to attack his wife because 'how could a doctor miss stage 5 cancer'. I've only just realised Jill Biden is an English teacher, her doctorate is in educational management. She's no more qualified to spot cancer than my cat. What utter twats the Trumps are.

MigsandTiggs · 21/05/2025 08:18

Trump's team is weaponising Biden's cancer diagnosis to attack the Democratic party 'cos they knew he wasn't fit to carry out his Presidental duties'.

To be honest they’re so stupid it’s questionable whether they know the difference between a medical Dr and a person with a doctorate. I saw in the papers yesterday that the DOJ are considering charging her with elder abuse. They’re absolutely vile the lot of them. Let the poor family have their dignity.

That's going to bite them on the arse further down the line.

That said I do think there are legitimate questions around whether those in Biden’s circle hid his increasing infirmity.

They discussed it on Americast the other day in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper and questioned for instance whether it would be used against those like Buttigieg who served within his Cabinet should they choose to run in 2028.

Elder abuse? On what basis, the 'missed' cancer or something else?

I agree around his obvious general infirmity, which does look like it was covered up, but not about his cancer. Grade 9 prostate cancer can go from zero to a hundred in a couple of months.

Whatever people might say about Biden, he absolutely saw what was coming with all those pardons he issued in his last weeks as President.

Any commentator who didn’t think the 2nd Trump administration would be as bad as it’s turned out to be doesn’t really have a leg to stand on if they are criticising Biden’s mental acuity.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 21/05/2025 08:45

With regard to Biden’s acuity in comparison to Trump's, I firmly believe that Trump is demented*. I’m not so sure about Biden, even now.

*There is no other explanation for his horrific behaviour as President.

MrTiddlesTheCat · 21/05/2025 08:48

I don't think Trump has dementia. I think he's the same absolutely pig ignorant, self centred, arrogant, petty fuckwit he's always been.

In which case, I do wonder about the mental abilities of those who saw fit to elect him and continue to support him. It is very disturbing indeed.

Absolutely this. Every single argument about age or infirmity made about Biden also applies to Trump but the people making those arguments on both sides of the political divide don’t seem to be worried about the old guy currently in the White House who’s been increasingly making the same gaffes for years. And if you elect a 78 year old into a physically and mentally demanding 4 year job it’s hardly surprising when they are more infirm by the end of it.

I strongly suspect that Biden’s mental acuity on his worst day is preferable to Trump’s on his best.

There have been questions about his dementia since his first presidency. It’s the reason why he took that mental state test during his medical and is forever proudly boasting about his score on it.

If you look at videos from 15/20 years ago, his first presidency and now there is a fairly marked decline in speech, sentence structure etc. There’s definitely something going on. Although he is a self centred, narcissistic, ignorant arsehole too.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 21/05/2025 09:23

They do say that dementia accentuates the worst traits in people as all barriers are lowered as sufferers are unaware of the social niceties which would previously have prevented them from behaving badly. (Anecdotal. My own mother was already slightly mad before dementia set in, so I can’t judge.)

Serpentstooth · 21/05/2025 09:33

Dear Mr President Pot. Mr Bigly Kettle is calling you out. USA, the place where shame crawled off to die.

Yes that was my thought exactly.

I think focussing on "presidential health" is going to have blowback for Trump.

Streisand effect.

Maybe that was it Rafa?

I can’t even remember the story that made me think there’s a West Wing clip for that.

There’s so much going on.

It's Reagan's starwars project all over again. A very, very expensive and utterly useless vanity project dressed up as defense.

To be fair, that did put a rocket up the Soviet arse, so to speak. My memory of the road to 1989 was the huge US defence spend triggering the economic collapse of the USSR.

The real question is who does the US need protection from who hasn't already got the keys, the alarm code and the Netflix PIN ?

Definitely fits!

Perhaps DT Jr is getting Dr Jill Biden muddled up with Dr Abigail Bartlet?

CaveMum · 21/05/2025 10:28

Also reminds me of that scene in Friends where Ross starts calling himself Dr Gellar and gets called out for not being a “real Dr”.

Syphilitic megalomania is more likely. Although frontotemporal dementia remains a possibility, it's very different to what most people think dementia is.

PerkingFaintly · 21/05/2025 10:48

Oh Trumpies have been trying the "elder abuse" line against Biden for years.

Accusations are admissions, and all that.

South African president Cyril Ramaphosa is in Washington to meet Trump.

Can Mandela's former negotiator charm Donald Trump?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4g22myx9nmo

He's extremely able. On the other hand South Africa is starting from behind for reasons related to Trump's disdain for anything African (except white African), Trump and Trumpies' racism, Musk's South African identity, and the political usefulness of the "white genocide" claim.

I see Ramaphosa is planning to mobilise some of South Africa's pre-1994 favourites: our geographical position makes us strategically indispensable to you; and we have minerals, alllll the minerals.

Plus a new one: we have lovely golf courses.Grin

Cyril Ramaphosa, wearing a leather green, yellow and black leather jacket and with a yellow and white rose garland around his neck, gestures with his hand as he talks.

South Africa-US relations: Can Cyril Ramaphosa charm Donald Trump?

The South African president will try to reset relations with the US in a high-stakes White House meeting on Wednesday.
