Inspired by the other thread. Instead of " has anyone worked for someone famous" which is quite niche.

Met the guy that plays Ian Beale on Eastenders. Decent bloke.

Lots in my job but can’t say who they are as they were patients.

In reality. I live close to Rod Stewart so see him fairly frequently and have a quick chat as he always wants to pet my dog. Michelle Keegan also gave my dog a belly rub and we chatted though I didn’t realise it was her until my friend said so afterwards. I’ve held Beyoncé’s hand at a concert years back but didn’t speak to her obviously 😂

Are you a nurse or is that just something he's into? 🤣

Yes, lots and most were great, some bloody awful. From huge pop stars, actors of international repute, through to news readers.

GardenGaff · 24/04/2025 18:30

I’ve met Kim Cattrall walking on a beach. She was very nice.

I’ve met Colleen Rooney, Katie Price, loads of footballers, half the cast of Coronation Street, Mel C, Tony Hadley, I’ve met and had dinner with quite a few “UK famous” people, journalists, a couple of news readers, through corporate events.

Jessica Muschamp ( Neighbours ) kissed my hand at the pub many years ago!!

Scousemousey · 24/04/2025 18:36

I worked in hospitality in the 80s.
I met and got to know Oliver Reed quite well. He could be absolutely charming but also scarily unpredictable.
He once jumped out of a hotel room window into a swimming pool below, narrowly missing the steps. Drunk. Obvs.

Unforgettablefire · 24/04/2025 18:46

Adam ant years ago in a coffee shop in London, Gary Numan years ago who was lovely, and the Edge from U2 who was extremely lovely, polite and very soft spoken.

LlynTegid · 24/04/2025 18:50

Several people.

One perhaps to note is Cardinal Peter Turkson, mentioned in press speculation as a possible next Pope.

Shetlands · 24/04/2025 18:52

Yes I went to a 'society' wedding and met Pippa Middleton and Prince William as well as several titled aristocrats.

IdaGlossop · 24/04/2025 18:54

Colin Firth, at the House of Commons. I asked him if he would write a message for an Italian friend who was mad about him. He did.

Joanna Lumley, who was the celeb at an event I worked on. She was a delight and a total pro, way exceeding the brief and making it all about the people who were the guests.

Changingplace · 24/04/2025 18:57

Loads through my work, most famous probably David Attenborough.

shellyleppard · 24/04/2025 19:00

rosydreams · 24/04/2025 19:00

graham norton ,my mother bumped into him in London. I felt so mortified by my mother i hid behind her. She was so excitable and friendly to him but being a teenager i chose to hide hahaha

REDB99 · 24/04/2025 19:01

I’ve met quite a few:
Vanessa Redgrave
Ralph Fiennes
Noel Gallagher
Gok Wan
Sam Fender
Marlon from Emmerdale

All in everyday circumstances such as cafes / bars apart from Noel Gallagher where I was working as a teenager at an Oasis concert in the 90s and he came to say hello to us lot flogging programmes.

MsNevermore · 24/04/2025 19:01

I had a really crap snog with Harry McGuire when I was 17 🫣🫣🥴🥴🥴😂

Also met Kit Harrington (Jon Snow in Game of Thrones) in a farm shop local to where I used to live. He and his wife live just down the road and apparently he’s a regular customer! My DS was only 2, Kit was in the queue to pay and DS ran face first into the back of his legs 🫣 He helped my DS up, handed him the dinosaur toy that had gone flying and spent the next 5 minutes asking my DS what his favourite dinosaur was and telling him all about his favourite one. He was really sweet! (Although the rumours about him being shockingly tiny in person really are true!!!!)

Also met Sophie Wessex (Now the Duchess of Edinburgh) at the RAF 100 celebrations. She was exactly as I expected - very kind, classy and sincere.

Frank Bruno was a special guest at a sportsman’s dinner where I was working the bar. I poured him his first pint. He was cheerful, polite and tipped really well at the end of the night! Fucking massive hands though 🫣😂

shellyleppard · 24/04/2025 19:04

Jilly cooper on a train to bath spa, lovely friendly ladye. Steve Davis at a snooker tournament at my local leisure centre. Martin Johnson (rugby player) . couldn't remember his name so just went good luck in the match... you!! 🤣🤣🤣

taxguru · 24/04/2025 19:04

Olivia Newton-John in a London department store toilets back in the early 70s before she was famous, just as she started guest appearances on Saturday evening variety/chat TV shows such as Cliff Richard, Les Dawson, etc. She was lovely and super friendly, a really chatty "girl next door". She gave me a business card of her PA/manager (her mother!), who I wrote to and they sent me back a signed poster and autographed picture/post card, which I treasured for years.

madaboutpurple · 24/04/2025 19:05

I met David Icke at a personal growth event. He was very polite and friendly and interesting.
