Inspired by the other thread. Instead of " has anyone worked for someone famous" which is quite niche.

I met niall horan. My ex boyfriend met Katy perry.

Ladamesansmerci · 24/04/2025 19:07

I met Katherine Jenkins.

Eggsinthewhoopsiebasketalready · 24/04/2025 19:08

Sue Pollard in a back street pub in Newcastle.. She was quite rude...

User14March · 24/04/2025 19:08

Tom Cruise, surprisingly lovely & curiously down-to-earth. Not the first on these threads to note it seems. Looked shorter than movies & youthful.

NorthernSpirit · 24/04/2025 19:13

Prince Charles, Joanna Lumley & Ben Kingsley at Buckingham Palace in the late 80’s when I went to collect my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

I now run my a mobile bar and have recently had Tom
Cruise (we were hired for Mission Impossible filming), Bradley Walsh (we did the rap party for The Larkins), people from The Only Way is Essex (I have no idea who as I don’t watch it) & Matthew Horne (from Gavin & Stacey) at the bar!

Katkins17 · 24/04/2025 19:14

I spilt red wine on Sandy Toksvig…..

qandatime · 24/04/2025 19:27

I met Mark Owen at Charing Cross in the nineties. It wasn’t long after Take That had split, I was 17.. I was so star struck but he entertained my obvious obsession and signed an autograph and gave me a hug! He is tiny up close and just gorgeous.

DancingDucks · 24/04/2025 19:30

I met George Michael back in the 80s when he was in Wham!. He was as gorgeous and utterly charming as you would expect. Lovely man.

Namechangedforspooky · 24/04/2025 19:31

Yep, quite a few
They are mainly patients though from many years of working in big city A&Es.
Bound by the Hippocratic oath so can’t give details. Some is tabloid fodder too!

MeAndMyGhost · 24/04/2025 19:40

Yes (captains of industry, rock stars, sports stars, politicians, royalty, actors etc). Just talk to them like a regular person. They are nice (usually!).

Grandma60 · 27/07/2025 19:36

Sorry to come late to the party, only just found this thread.
A number of years ago now I was on the Eurostar coming home from France and the girl next to me started writing a letter in beautiful cursive script. I was fascinated, and as I watched her forming those lovely shapes, I quite shamelessly read over her shoulder, "Dear Uncle Dom, Just wanted to thank you for the most beautiful bracelet..."
She penned a few more lines about how she had enjoyed seeing him, was looking forward to seeing him again soon, etc, and addressed the envelope "Mr D DeLuise", followed by his address which I committed to memory (just in case I ever found myself in the vicinity, the way you do)

Happyasapiginmuck1 · 12/09/2025 02:18

I've met quite a few famous people but the most famous would be George Clooney and I got his autograph and a photo and Mark Wahlberg at the UK premier of "A Perfect Storm" in Birmingham.

CalzoneOnLegs · 12/09/2025 02:38

@REDB99 that was nice of him

GonnaeNoDaeThatJustGonnaeNo · 12/09/2025 02:48

Royals, politicians (all parties) and celebrities

Royals were by far the nicest

Iocainepowder · 12/09/2025 02:57

Yes quite a few in America and Uk. All lovely experiences, including some big Hollywood names.

Ha, i mainly associate him with Men in Tights. Love that film

garlictwist · 12/09/2025 04:51

No one massively famous. A few athletes through my old work (the Brownlees, Kelly Holmes, Beth Tweddle).

dizzydizzydizzy · 12/09/2025 07:03

Jenny Agutter - at a restaurant abroad and then at the airport a week later (she was on my flight)

Noel Fitzpatrick- in an Italian restaurant after the London Marathon - let DC2 take a selfie
With him.

Rebecca Addllington - at a party to thank London 2012 volunteer

Victoria Pendleton - at a 10K running race in the Olympic Park

Princess Beatrice - also at a 10k run in the Olympic park.

Joe Sugg - Belfast Airport - he was on our flight too. He was lovely. He let DC2 take a selfie with him.

David Wilkie - met him at my local leisure centre after doing a sponsored swim when I was a child.

Itsnottheheatitsthehumidity · 12/09/2025 11:16

The one I recycle often is Hugh Grant. Or rather, I clocked him on the Tube, he clocked me looking, and glared at me. I knew better than to approach.

Seeing people who are famous is quite common in London.

Dartmoorcheffy · 12/09/2025 11:21

Met lots in my job but two that were so lovely were Abbey clancy and Peter crouch. Really really nice people, down to earth and so friendly.

FenywHysbys · 12/09/2025 11:26

I also met Johnny Morris when I was about 6 @FleaBeeBob - he was horrible and I never watched Animal Magic again!

Several very near-misses - Pierce Brosnan, Simon Le Bon, Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta Jones 🤣

Pigmum86 · 12/09/2025 11:27

I’ve met Robert plant of led zeppelin a few times and he’s very down to earth and normal

martinitslinda · 12/09/2025 12:05

Met David Walliams a few times, Matt Lucas, Jimmy Carr.

Also met Michael McIntyre, Got pictures of him but not with him.

All mine are comedians because I go to a lot of stand up shows.

Tim Henman. He was promoting an event in our local high street. Really pleasant.

PocketSand · 12/09/2025 12:44

I met the artist formerly known as Prince in an exclusive nightclub in Manchester. One of his bouncers came over and asked me to join Prince in his VIP area. I declined Grin

CherryRipe1 · 12/09/2025 13:25

I've met loads, worked for a fairly famous producer/director for a short period. He was fun but very overindulgent. @PocketSand A family member worked for Prince, said he was a bit of a see you next Tuesday. I met his girlfriend, Susannah or Wendy Melvoin, can't remember which, she was very pleasant.
