Maybe we should visit the "Labour isn't working thread" and tell them what they should be posting about?

I dropped in, realised it was batshit crazy and full of bollocks so left. They don't want debate so I wouldn't waste my time.

"And Starmer will attend the Pope's funeral"
I wonder if the King will go as well.

I imagine so. He postponed his wedding to attend the last Pope’s.

What have we done to deserve such egregious punishment? 🤭

Don't worry, I wasn't being serious. It is not a safe space for the likes of me. The only time I ventured on there I got a "fux sake" as a response.

I know @PandoraSoxx

It's not a place for me and I hope you're feeling better xx

I am thanks, but determined to mostly lurk now as I found the past few weeks on MN to be not very good for me! Xx

Prince William to attend the Pope’s funeral on behalf of the Crown according to BBC. I think Charles is significantly sicker than he’s letting on…

BestIsWest · 22/04/2025 16:13

DH just said the same thing @cardibach

Perhaps they should also make it clear what a tiny monitory of prisoners are foreign while they are at it.

I do hope this will be the case
Pandora sometimes keeping away from threads is for the best do hope you are feeling a little less upset 💐
was thinking about prettybird & a couple of other posters (whose names have totally escaped me at the moment) that haven’t seen for a while.

And mine agree also thinking he a lot more unwell than we know
Cardi any news of the audition?

BestIsWest · 22/04/2025 16:17

I’m sure I was on a gardening thread with prettybird this week. Maybe she’s avoiding the shitshow this thread became a few weeks back. I almost opted out too.

SerendipityJane · 22/04/2025 16:17

Go out for a morning, and look what happens.

No - nothing. I’ll be mightily pissed off if they have decided and only told the successful auditioned, and shall say so if I see t(e full cast posted before I hear! I only did it because it would be a bit of fun to do the show, I’ve plenty going on without it. I won’t be upset either way but the lack of manners in delaying with no update or not saying at all is making me cross!

He looked well, if a little pale in the pictures from the Maundy Thursday service. It's a big day for someone convalescing, though.

cardibach · 22/04/2025 16:35

That’s a fair point @PickAChew - there’s travelling which even in a private jet takes time, and ceremonial events take ages. They also tend to involve a fair amount of standing.

Thats sad if that is the case. I saw a short film of him & the Queen meeting Pope Francis and I thought he looked particularly pale and unwell.

And he had to come up North. That's enough to give some MNers a fit of the vapours 🤣

placemats · 22/04/2025 16:42

The King had a lovely message of condolence and had met recently with the Pope.

Living in the North West there's a by election happening soon. I'm going to help out next week. Labour obviously.

The 24th anniversary of my father's death is tomorrow and the 1st anniversary of my mother's death is on Sunday. So may not post for a while.

Will always check in.

Sorry about your sad anniversaries. It would have been my dad’s 104th birthday today. He’d have said ‘that’s a good age, if he’d lived’ as he always did about birthdays of the deceased.

dontcallmelen · 22/04/2025 16:47

Totally get what you mean Cardi I would feel annoyed also.
tough & busy time ahead placemats💐

MissMarplesNiece · 22/04/2025 17:24

@placemats Grieving after bereavement is a long process, I've found. I'm hoping Reform don't win the By Election and that their bubble bursts.

Quote from opinion piece in I paper today " In the case of Starmer and Badenoch I very much doubt they will lead their parties into the next general election." Badenoch I agree will be gone before long, but Starmer as well?

Zonder · 22/04/2025 17:40

Perhaps the lurkers/scolders could also read Diane Abbott's book (this would be fun! We could have a readalong!) or even Rory Stewart's which make it abundantly clear that no one political party is a hive mind , much as Blair tried to achieve this and , it seems, Starmer was applauded for. I think possibly only the Greens of the bigger parties have a unified viewpoint or party line on this specific issue. I am not even sure that Reform do but I'd guess so. So, it is possible to be a Labour voter, supporter and/or member and have very differing views on this specific issue. The aim of this thread is not to fall out over our differences.

Well said @Piggywaspushed

I have also been wondering about pretty bird. I hope she's ok.
