Badenoch believes that disabled kids have a financial advantage over NT kids - an idea that is laughable that its enough for me.

I avoid Fraser Nelson's column in the Times after he chose to print the Lea Ypi article in the Spectator. But I'll admit that his article in the Saturday Times detailing Jenrick's continuing campaign for leadership of the Conservatives made me laugh.

There was potential for a UK Signal group scandal here as Nelson was briefly added to a Jenrick WA group which included the words "RJ for PM". Sadly Nelson was kicked out of the group before he could read more.

The long and the short of it is that Jenrick is hopeful that the Badenoch tide will turn after 1st May.

The Express is throwing a hissy fit over what they call 'creeping Brexit betrayals'

Make sense of it Confused

The Chancellor sparked anger when she revealed that govt wants to enable young people from Europe and UK to work and travel overseas”

Notonthestairs · 28/04/2025 09:59

The Express needs a lie down.

PandoraSocks · 28/04/2025 10:15

Anger amongst whom?

DuncinToffee · 28/04/2025 10:33

I don't know, I haven't read the article, just the front page where that sentence was printed.

Maybe from brexiteers who are so obsessed with keeping foreigners out that they don't want their children experiencing other cultures either.

They probably don't mind Australians.....

PandoraSocks · 28/04/2025 10:15

Anger amongst whom?

The Express used to be a sluice for the thoughts of Ben Habib. They like to use the epithet "Brexiteer" as if if conferred some sort of elite status upon the recipient in their headlines.

"Brexiteer slams Starmer"
"Latest Labour move outrages Brexiteer"
"Brexiteer gives his* views on something to fill space"

what the flip is happening in Spain-Portgual-France?

cardibach · 28/04/2025 13:12

Not sure @Notonthestairs but I’m going to northern Spain to walk the last bit of the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela in 2 weeks so they had better sort it out!
Edit: by ‘bit’ I mean 111k…

How exciting! How many miles a day are you planning?

We are taking 10 days with a rest day in the middle, so most days are around 6 miles. One is about 10 because unfortunately that’s how far it is between accommodation possibilities! It’s self guided but our luggage is portered. I’m very excited.

Notonthestairs · 28/04/2025 14:11

That sounds amazing Cardi

MaybeNotBob · 28/04/2025 14:32

She is quite clearly gender criticall finding another bandwagon to try and chase the Reform vote with. That’s enough for me.

Fixed that for you...

Also a proposal to further tighten up on the ability of schools to demand expensive logo uniform.

Doesn't go far enough for me, but it's a step.in the right direction.

MissMarplesNiece · 28/04/2025 15:28

@cardibach I've always wanted to walk the Camino Frances - what a fab thing for you to do.

itsgettingweird · 28/04/2025 15:45

Oooh cardi that’s come round quick. Hope you have the best time.

Please someone tell me it’s not France too? DS is flying there tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️

itsgettingweird · 28/04/2025 16:05

The response from Ukraine energy minister is lovely. Said they’ve had lots of recent experience due to Russias invasion and as Europe has helped Ukraine they’d love to return the favour anyway they can help.

Yes I read that. A reminder of just one aspect of what they have had to endure.

The Basque country lost power for a while but are now back up and France is pushing power into part of Spain's grid. Portugal is blaming Spain and it looks like it could get a bit shouty.

DuncinToffee · 28/04/2025 17:00

Britain and the European Union are set to sign a formal declaration committing to “free and open trade” in defiance of Donald Trump’s tariff agenda.

A leaked draft seen by POLITICO promises a “new strategic partnership” between London and Brussels based on “maintaining global economic stability and our mutual commitment to free and open trade.”
