I love these threads. Often started by Lucysmam, so in the spirit...what are you up to?

Got up not much later than normal, shoved washing on and sat on MN for a while, got dressed, put the washing up, unloaded the dishwasher. Then some paperwork, a walk to Tesco for bread and milk and then some batch cooking.

Just done the ironing and put another wash load on. Not planning on doing anything else other than making pizza from scratch and a shower really!

Got the end of the long weekend/holiday blues now.

Washed the nets, cleaned the window frames. Listened to the radio. Sorted out some washing. There's always something to do round the house
Just chilling in general. Suns made an appearance.

We’d planned a day out but after hosting yesterday kitchen was still a bit of a disaster zone, we were both tired and DD didn’t seem 100% this morning either. Plus weather was a bit crap and what we had planned was outdoors.

So lazy day instead, slight lie in, Disney film and playing with DD who is fine again so think it was just tiredness this morning, quick walk to local shop for milk and eggs (not chocolate ones!). Now got DD’s friend here for a little play, just for an hour whilst her mum gets some work done. My sister and BIL are coming for a meal later, DH is making a curry - I cooked a roast yesterday so it’s his turn!

IthasYes · 21/04/2025 13:56

Slogged away in the garden for a while, will do some more sorting out clothes and bits for a car boot sale soon and then work and school clothes soon
Also watching stoke child in between.

aylis · 21/04/2025 14:00

Lazy day. Had a long lie, then cleaned the bathroom and had some lunch. Just going to change the bedsheets and hoover, iron uniform, make some soup and that's about it for chores. My daughter is having a jammie day and watching TV so I will browse about online, maybe read a bit as I just managed to get to the library before it closed on Saturday, and watch the next episode of Black Mirror.

Topsy44 · 21/04/2025 14:00

We were out all day yesterday with family so just enjoying decompressing at home today before back to work/school tomorrow. I am not looking forward to going back to work after a week off🙁.

Have washed up, mowed the front lawn, put online shop away and now double screening on the sofa with DD13 who is watching I think Dr Who on her laptop.

Will probably mow back lawn shortly, then might pop out to just get something I missed off the online shop. After that it will be on the sofa with a film and polishing off a Chocolate Orange😀.

DH has gone to watch football and it’s an away game so he’ll be gone for ages. I had been a maybe to a picnic with a hobby group but it’s raining so it’s changed to pub which I didn’t fancy. To be honest I’m glad of the excuse to stay home.

I was on leave last week and had been busy doing lots of things, so am enjoying having a quiet day before going back to work. I’ve done some hoovering and cleaning, put laundry on, sorted and folded all the towels, replied to some emails, ordered a load of cards from Thortful for upcoming birthdays and occasions, and am now going to lounge on the sofa and watch Barristers.

MeAndMyGhost · 21/04/2025 14:12

Cooking some soup, two loads of laundry, now setting down with an Agatha Christie and a glass of wine 🍷.

princesspadam · 21/04/2025 14:33

I need to do a food shop but I am so hungover I want to cry

Jsidken · 21/04/2025 14:41

It's a bit drizzly here so I'm just enjoying an easy day at home, after having family visiting last couple of days.
Did a load of laundry and put clean bedding on earlier, sorted recycling and bins, made a nice brunch, and am now relaxing with my knitting and catching up with podcasts. DP is planning what he's going to make for dinner, some kind of curry by the sound of it.
Later I need to sort lunch for work tomorrow and shower, that's about it.

fitflopqueen · 21/04/2025 15:12

Dog walk and coffee with a friend. By time she left it was lunchtime, then call from neighbour about distressed sheep so went to find her and reunite with her pals. Watching rubbish tv now, need to go get some milk as busy tomorrow.
Bit of ironing to do and hoover upstairs then cheeseboard later, Netflix, wine and bed.

skyeisthelimit · 21/04/2025 15:23

Yesterday we started to bingewatch Glee, having never seen it before.

Today, I got up late, went into my office to pretend to work and then spent way too much time on MN.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 21/04/2025 15:44

Hope you've been and got it done @princesspadam

Sounds like everyone is pottering about getting ready for the week - at least it'll only be 4 days till it's the weekend again and then another short week soon with May bank holiday.

For at least 3 hours today I was sewing up/finishing off 2 knitted hand puppets, doctor and nurse, that I make for a charity. So fiddly!

Now chilling on the sofa with classic FM top 300 and trying to get in the mood for planting some of the plants I bought the other day.

Zippedydodah · 21/04/2025 15:46

The day started with a drizzly dog walk after a poor night’s sleep, usually I sleep very well on the air mattress.
Ds and family have been staying, which is lovely, he cooked breakfast for everyone while we chatted.
They left late morning so I stripped the beds, put away the airbed, rearranged my craft room and did the first of several loads of washing.
It’s brightened up now but I’m so knackered I’ve had a hot bath and come to bed. DH can sort out the dogs etc
i don’t know why my oomph has evaporated!

Crunchymum · 21/04/2025 15:48

Kids all out at the cinema with DP (they went to the park first and will have Waga's after) so I've had a lovely afternoon to myself and no cooking later!! I've got leftovers from yesterday's roast.

Been reading, had a long bath and now watching some TV, bliss.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 21/04/2025 15:48

Listening to an album called 'Heart like a wheel' by Linda Ronstadt

Its in the top 500 albums of all time, by rolling Stone magazine

My autistic dd has had her first try of ice cream which she seems okay with so far 🥰

Made a loaf of bread yesterday so having some of that

Preparing for back to school tomorrow

Not a bad day so far 🙌

Edit, I also love these threads, I just like to know the random bits about people's days 🤭

Chipsahoy · 21/04/2025 16:00

Normal ish day here as it’s not a holiday in Scotland. Kids been to school, but dh off work as his company is English so we went out to lunch.

Where in Scotland is that? It's a holiday in Glasgow and I just double checked in a panic after reading your post 😆

evtheria · 21/04/2025 16:04

Just ‘guided’ DC to complete their one piece of homework set over the break. Quickly put a wash on as it’s finally stopped raining and is sunny!
Now sat on couch having a caramel egg and a mug of tea while watching cartoons.

Tumblingthrough · 21/04/2025 16:08

DH cooked breakfast early ish as I had a Pilates class late morning. Lovely walk to see some bluebells this afternoon and now debating whether to cook or get a takeaway.

We have a couple of small glasses of wine left in the bottle from last night to have tonight whilst watching a film.

A very relaxing day.

DancingDucks · 21/04/2025 16:08

Drove DD back to Uni, so that was a 4 hour round trip, did a bit of shopping, took the dog out. DH practising guitar upstairs, DS out somewhere or other and I'm just settling down to watch an episode of Vera that I haven't seen.

lissie123 · 21/04/2025 16:10

Early morning dog walk in the drizzle. Made tea and back to bed with DH. Surfaced late morning for a late breakfast . Dd back to her flat tonight so cooking homemade burgers and salad for dinner beforehand. Drank a lot of tea today while occasionally dealing with laundry and planning work for the rest of my week.

Councils decide if today is a bank holiday or not in Scotland.

Moier · 21/04/2025 16:16

Didn't have my carer/ cleaner here today.
The pool man had been Friday.. so l had an hour in the pool this morning.
Then had a very lazy day.. my daughter sent me home with left overs from the roast yesterday so just going to make a fry up( bubble and squeak) type thing for my tea.
Been browsing net and watching telly mainly .
Got two Grandsons and two of their friends in the pool at the moment.
Said if they put out the rubbish / tidy my garden and other little jobs.. I'll order them a pizza before they go home.

StarDolphins · 21/04/2025 16:16

Batch cooked a chilli. Got my PC set up for work tomorrow & my DD’s uniform/bag ready for back to school and now I’m contemplating whether to enjoy some Prosecco tonight to desperately cling on to the lovely and fun Easter break or whether to be healthy🤔
