Trans NHS Patients can access every women-only space in London!

I’m sharing the following gifted link … I hope it works!

Telegraph article:- Trans NHS Patients can access every women-only space in London

How long before other trusts refuse to comply with single-sex laws?

Im getting increasingly confused as to what protection single sex spaces are being afforded; what protections is there for biological women if the law is going to be so blatantly flouted by such a national institution as the NHS.

Is is disgusting. Shame on anyone who signed it off.

BishyBarnyBee · 20/04/2025 22:54

The national guidance was literally changed this week. Those policies are pre-existing policies. It's far too soon to say how trusts will respond to the new guidance.

The article is dated today and mentions ‘whistle blowers’. It states all NHS Hospitals in London are refusing to comply with single-sex laws to stop transgender people using women-only spaces. It’s states that out of 28 hospital trusts in London none could guarantee single-sex spaces and some trusts are openly opposed to Government demands.

The NHS Trusts need time to rewrite their policies in light of the new ruling.

Everyone should keep a close watch to ensure that changes are acceptable and implemented rapidly.

CanelliniBeans · 20/04/2025 23:10

NHS Trusts are potentially worried about what impact it will have on bed spaces if they follow the law.
its disgusting anyone ever thought women only spaces could be invaded by men, but once the idea was floated the NHS jumped on it as a chance to save money.

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust likens moving a trans woman out of a women-only ward to racism. “Just as an Asian patient would not be automatically moved to an inappropriate ward due to potential racism by other patients, so too, a trans person should not be moved from a ward appropriate to their preferred gender due to potential prejudice of other service users,” its guidance states.

This is bizarre what a false equivalence!

Theunamedcat · 20/04/2025 23:19

So can women sue?

Their analogy is racist as fuck.

So can women sue?

Yes. It would be worth waiting for the outcome of Sandie Peggie’s case, but that seems like a foregone conclusion after the SC judgment.

Jk987 · 20/04/2025 23:30

It’s only been a few days since the law was passed It will take a while to implement surely?

The law hasn’t changed. All the Supreme Court did was clarify what the law is, nothing changed. These NHS Trusts have all been breaking the law for years because they listened to the lines of stonewall and not to lawyers

We will have to. After enough cases are won things will start to change

MyrtleLion · 20/04/2025 23:49

The EHRC Chair said on the day of the ruling that the policy must comply with the law. The EHRC will set out guidance by the summer. It will be statutory guidance which carries the force of law.

Women stand with flags and placards outside the Supreme Court in London on Wednesday, two of the legible placards read 'Fact is not hate', 'no man can be a lesbian', and 'women are adult human females'.

NHS will be pursued if gender policies don't change, equalities watchdog says

It comes after a Supreme Court ruling that the legal definition of a woman is based on biological sex.

Brighton (I think?) went one better.

And wrote in the policy that a woman objecting to a TW on the ward was the same as a white woman objecting to a black woman.😬

Burntt · 20/04/2025 23:52

I cant post it as outing but I know from someone who works in a hospital not in London this attitude isn’t exclusive to London.

i fear nothing will change until the legal cases overwhelm them. We are just women after all we should know we need to be kind no matter the cost to us as we are the support humans

BunfightBetty · 20/04/2025 23:54

Well it was also reported a few weeks ago that all hospitals in Scotland has these policies. Every one failed to have single sex wards and spaces!

Nope they have to be in compliance so should have had the policy review done before the case was decided.

If it was a bank where the senior managers can go to prison /be fined / loose the right to work in the sector they would have rolled the new policy out 2 seconds after legal finished reading the ruling.

But with no personal risk and the taxpayer being left to fund any payouts.....

That's not racist. They struggled to find an analogy that fits and failed. The closest would be, that they wouldn't move a woman if a trans woman objected.
About as awkward though as Lammy, Reeves and Starmer's excuses.

mumda · 21/04/2025 00:22

It really concerns me that this nonsense is going to persist more vengefully than before.

Except its women doing the objecting to having a male on what should be a female only ward.

Just as an Asian patient female would not be automatically moved to an inappropriate male ward due to potential racism by other female patients, so too, a trans person identified male should not be moved from a female ward appropriate to their preferred gender due to potential prejudice of other females service users,

They have desexed it as they know its more likely to be a problem with a male on a female ward. And if a woman opted for a male ward and was sexually assaulted the comments would be well why did she risk it or what did she expect could happen

Yes it is, it was posted earlier on the feminism board.

And I'd be surprised if you could find a single health trust in the UK that hasn't got the same policy, to be honest, I know they do in NI, and I believe Knotty's group had already checked out Scotland and found the same thing. Up until last week, the NHS was well and truly captured.

Ah, I thought it must be. She and the rest of the auditors have done an amazing job here.

Yes, agreed, there’s been a clean sweep in London and Scotland. Women left without any single sex spaces anywhere in any hospital. I expect when the audit of the rest of the UK is finished it will show there isn’t one hospital that hasn’t removed women’s rights in this way.
