If so, which county are you in?

I know some schools have already had two weeks’ holiday and others - like those in Wales - only broke up on Friday.

Ours have had a week and have another week to go. We’re in the South West.

Yep, we're in South Yorkshire. Me and dd2 go back tomorrow - 2 different schools, same trust. Dd1 has another week and a half - she's at a different, but still in the same LA 6th form college. I'm so not looking forward to the morning 😥

MollyButton · 13/04/2025 18:52

Really? And you have next weekend off?

Alittlebitofthis · 13/04/2025 18:52

I’m in the northeast of Scotland and my ds is back tomorrow. He’s only in for 4 days then off on Friday. Back on Easter Monday. Other (most parts of Scotland still have another week to go!

Myaccountismyaccount · 13/04/2025 18:53

Littletreefrog · 13/04/2025 19:00

North East here and Easter holiday starts tomorrow but there are huge differences between schools. Now that most are Academies even schools in the same town can end up having different holidays.

Easter Monday is a school day for you?!

Same.

We are in Scotland too. Dumfries and Galloway.

For op. Where we live Schools always get first 2 weeks In April regardless of when Easter falls

Helladelinquent · 13/04/2025 19:06

I'm in Ireland and we only broke up on Friday so 2 weeks to go. Also Good Friday isn't a bank holiday here - which confused an English co-worker her first year here!

theonlyonestillawake · 13/04/2025 19:09

DH and I have had a week off and still have a week to go.
DS attends a Catholic school in the same city and still hasn't broken up! He finishes on Wednesday and then is off for a further week after we both go back. So only 5 days together and then a week of finding childcare when there are no holiday clubs on because no one else is on holiday. It's a right ballache!

Mine only broke up on Friday!

Ours too in East Midlands, go back 28th April.

roofingtooting · 13/04/2025 19:15

No. Perthshire here. Second week tomorrow. They go back on Tuesday 22nd.

Nousernameforme · 13/04/2025 19:17

We've been off a week with another left. Southwest here as well. But a number of years back we had it where we had easter holiday then back to school for a week with a long weekend for Easter due to when easter fell in the year.
So it's not unheard of but was a bit weird

FourSeasonsLobelia · 13/04/2025 19:20

South Coast. They broke up Wednesday 2nd and are back Thursday 24th. Private school though that goes from 8.15 to 4.20 as the standard school day so usually have extra during the Easter holidays.

Easter Monday is a school day for you?!

It's not a bank holiday in Scotland, so yes.

TheNightingalesStarling · 13/04/2025 19:22

Back tomorrow (South Yorkshire). Today I've been sorting uniform, checking the timetables etc (much excitement as they both have the favourite art teacher this term!)

CandyCane457 · 13/04/2025 19:34

I’m in a Catholic school and we don’t even finish until this Wednesday, so ready now!

greengreyblue · 13/04/2025 19:35

No . One more week here. Midlands.

MidnightN · 13/04/2025 19:37

We’re in Greater Manchester and DD finished on 3rd April returns on 22nd April.

Some schools near us don’t finish until this Wednesday. They seem to have one week off and then 2 weeksfor May/june half term.

TeenLifeMum · 13/04/2025 19:38

I’m south west too and we have another week off. We did have different Easter dates to the rest of the country a few years ago and took advantage of getting a cheap AI holiday in the canaries.

Littleelffriend · 13/04/2025 20:01

North east Scotland here back tomorrow

Easter Monday is a school day for you?!

It is not a bank holiday in Scotland (because the 2nd January is) so pretty common to be in school depending when Easter lands

That's strange! I'm also NE Scotland and the kids go back next week. Are you Aberdeen/shire?

pearbottomjeans · 13/04/2025 20:08

Same as you - Surrey - back to school and work on 22nd.
