Do your children go back to school tomorrow?

If so, which county are you in?

I know some schools have already had two weeks’ holiday and others - like those in Wales - only broke up on Friday.

Ours have had a week and have another week to go. We’re in the South West.

Ours too in East Midlands, go back 28th April.

Same here, although the next city along are into their second week off so I’m expecting next week to be quiet when they’re all back at school!

BelfastBard · 13/04/2025 20:17

Ours aren’t even off yet. Finish this week then off for two.

MadeForThis · 13/04/2025 20:22

Ours finish on Thursday then back on 6th May. Lifetime!! In NI.

That's strange! I'm also NE Scotland and the kids go back next week. Are you Aberdeen/shire?

As far as I know, Moray, Aberdeen and shire are all the same holidays, and back tomorrow for 4 days then off Easter Friday.

Highlands are off another week

Hollyaddy · 13/04/2025 19:05

Same.

We are in Scotland too. Dumfries and Galloway.

For op. Where we live Schools always get first 2 weeks In April regardless of when Easter falls

Edited

I'm in D and G they def have Easter Monday off

blackheartsgirl · 13/04/2025 20:30

hyggetyggedotorg · 13/04/2025 20:31

It's so sensible to base school holidays on the calendar rather than Easter!

Sirzy · 13/04/2025 20:34

Northwest. We are halfway though the holidays. Ds goes back a week on Tuesday, I go back a week on Wednesday

Youbutterbelieve · 13/04/2025 20:37

The catholic schools around us have EITHER already had 2 weeks off and go back tomorrow. OR they don't break up until good Friday. The non catholic schools are all currently off and returning the Tuesday after easter. Greater Manchester

NerrSnerr · 13/04/2025 20:39

We're in Gloucestershire and broke up on Friday so it's the start of the holidays for us.

x2boys · 13/04/2025 20:40

No mine have had last week and this week off
Seems strange though as i assume your kids will have a long weekend for Easter .

I'm in Ireland and we only broke up on Friday so 2 weeks to go. Also Good Friday isn't a bank holiday here - which confused an English co-worker her first year here!

it's annoying it's not a bank holiday but civil service will be off and banks will be closed. post office normally closed too but this year fir the 1st time its open half day good Friday and closed Saturday some friends of mine are also off as their company head office is based in England but comes out of their hols. every year hr in my place of work have to email saying good Friday not a bank holiday is a working day and if want off must be approved annual leave 🤣 it amazes me though as what was a huge Catholic church company we don't have good Friday as a bank holiday 🤷

ShowDownTime · 13/04/2025 20:43

Finished 27th March, back Easter Tuesday. Bit odd to go back before Easter!

I’m in a Catholic school and we don’t even finish until this Wednesday, so ready now!

Do you get a week or two?
My son went to catholic schools and in primary he used finish on maundy thursday and have just over a week off with two weeks offf in the may/ june half term

julesagain · 13/04/2025 20:45

We only broke up on Friday.

cantpullthetrigger · 13/04/2025 20:45

We’re two weeks in and a week and a half to go. South West.

lucysmam · 13/04/2025 20:46

@MollyButton sorry, I've just seen your comment. Yes, we have the long weekend off. This half term's a weird one, I think, out of the 6 weeks, we're only in for 2 weeks once bank hols and training days are accounted for.

lucysmam · 13/04/2025 20:47

Sorry, that should have read two whole weeks - the rest are 4 day weeks.

Itisjustmyopinion · 13/04/2025 20:02

It is not a bank holiday in Scotland (because the 2nd January is) so pretty common to be in school depending when Easter lands

It's a public holiday in Edinburgh. Kids here have been off for a week already and go back a week on Tuesday.

We’re the same, always feel jealous of other teacher friends round about now, but when May comes around it’s amazing!!

I'm in the shire. My kids are back tomorrow for 4 days, off for Good Friday then back to school on Easter Monday.
I work for the NHS. Good Friday is a working day and Easter Monday is a public holiday for staff. It makes zero sense to have opposite public holidays for school and NHS, ideally they should be the same day. Luckily DH gets English public holidays so he can cover the kids on Friday.

EverythingsComingUpRoses · 13/04/2025 23:04

Sheffield here and back to school tomorrow -then we get Good Friday and Easter Monday off

and May bank

it’s going to be a very disjointed half term

TheArcher · 13/04/2025 23:05

West Midlands, only just broke up Friday.
