I have bought a dress and wide trousers. I live in leggings /jeggings. I haven't worn anything like this in around 20 years.

I'm now thinking when they come and I try them on they will probably stick to my fat bits and its going to look crap.

I know the answer is if it looks crap don't wear it. But it sort of brings me down when I realise I look like a prick .

I'd worn nothing but leggings/leggings for 15/20 years, I purchased a pair of trousers similar to the green ones a year or two ago and I promise you, they are fabulous! They actually cover my C-section overhang and flabby bits, make my thunder thighs practically unnoticeable and are very comfortable, I lived in them last summer.

The ONLY negative to them is I'd ensure the weather is going to be warm all day because they are very thin and even a slightly cold breeze will have you legs freezing

henlake7 · 03/04/2025 16:40

weird....I tend to stay away from leggings/jeggings because Im worried they will stick to my fat bits.
A nice flowy dress or wide legged trousers will surely skim over them?

Thank you. Hopefully they will be ok then. Would be nice to actually wear something different 😅

I used to live in leggings, now I live in wide leg trousers, they are much more flattering!

Love the dress, where is it from?

I will probably be straight back into leggings . But would be nice to wear something different for a change.

Dress is from studio

The dress would look lovely with anything - a blazer, a denim jacket. There are some knitted cardi style jackets I’ve seen (not nanna style at all) which look great.
The trousers - all you need is a simple white t shirt, really.
Now get some lipstick on, do your hair, and enjoy your new finds when the sun comes out.
Honestly, I know why women wear leggings but I’m bloody sick of seeing them on everyone.

DustyLee123 · 03/04/2025 17:27

I find that those wide legged trousers make me look as wide as my hips all the way down, so I’m better in fitted trousers as they show my slimmer legs.

Gundogday · 03/04/2025 17:28

Both lovely items and have a fab holiday.

SheridansPortSalut · 03/04/2025 17:32

The dress looks nice in the photo but at that price if it looks crap it's because of the quality of the dress, not anything to do with you or your "fat bits".

I'm thinking they might be tight ish on my thigh and then suddenly loose from the knee down and look odd . Probably to long as well. I don't do heels.

Clothes came . I didn't realise how fat i am 😭. Well I did . But I don't normally look at myself. I didn't realise my arms were so fat though. No point me trying to loose weight. I won't stick to it.

Ds says there will be many people bigger than me so not to worry.

Anyway will I get away with this ? I think maybe i Need a proper bra? I hate them

A good fitting bra will do wonders for you.

Don't be so down on yourself, the trousers look really nice. 👍
Try on some Flexifit bras in M&S, they are soft and comfy but supportive. I'd also get some skin toned Bridget knickers, they'll look smooth under all your summer clothes.

I will do. Will definitely make a difference. I will have a quick look in a min. And then go shopping in the week maybe. Hate shops though. I'm hoping I can leave the 2 youngest with dd . I really don't want to drag them round bra shops.

Wear dresses. These kind of clothes flatter very few people especially from the back.

Oh I look worse in a dress 😅. I haven't worn one is around 20 years . But I just bought one and I look like a proper dick. I would probably only wear it on my house on a hot day.

I think you’d look great in a midi linnen shirt dress. Nice fabric that breathes is important with summer clothes.

I just had a look . I can't see it at all. I won't dismiss it though never know may see something.

The trousers look great on you OP, but will you wear heels coz they're very long? As for the top, I think you need something with a sleeve or at least a t shirt.
