Can anyone explain the KFC television advert to me?

It’s weird, are KFC advocating that we dip people and eat them? And what’s with the giant egg and dropping it? Maybe they want this kind of reaction 😂

Gravy is a staple food in the South of the USA. You dunk anything in gravy.

I know it is. We have family there.

JasmineAllen · 24/03/2025 17:58

I saw this advert for the first time yesterday and I assumed it was boiling fat he was being dipped in as he came out a KFC battered wing thing. I found it was unpleasantly reminiscent of that Spooks episode when the woman had her head dipped in a fat fryer.

I really didn't like the implied association between KFC and cannibalism either!!

Definitely doesn't make me want to eat KFC, in fact it puts me off 😂

Its just a shit advert all round

ThisCleverUmberTurtle · 25/03/2025 18:25

I totally agree...very disturbing and I wouldn't want my kids watching this advert..I don't know what they were thinking!!!!

Alancarlo · 30/03/2025 16:24

I beleive it's about what came first chicken or the egg .but the lad getting dipped in gravy is meant to be a subliminal message as to what goes into the chicken as humans body parts have been found in there chicken in various countries .teeth finger tips and the likes .🤢 nasty but it hasn't put me off tbh .

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 30/03/2025 17:10

Wtf

JoiningLobby · 30/03/2025 17:24

The end part just looks like a big lump of shit being lifted out of sewage to me (admittedly my glasses are a bit crap though so maybe it looks better close up).

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/03/2025 22:02

Gravy is Salvation.

TabbyM · 01/04/2025 16:50

DH asked why the dunked chap comes out battered but the person walking into the boiling fat lake is unharmed...

Probably the person walking in is made of turkey, and KFC did say they would never use turkey?

Either way, super creepy. My neighbour’s son works in McD’s which is next to KFC and they have had a increase in business and people commenting the creepy ad put them off KFC

Ladyymuck · 02/04/2025 11:25

When I first saw this it was on TV in the background and thought it was a Willy wonka style ad with a chocolate lake until dh was like what on earth did he just watch. We couldn’t believe it was chicken! Not sure what they are hoping to achieve with this but like everyone else I won’t be ordering a family bucket any time soon.

Whytewych777 · 05/04/2025 10:21

Never liked KFC- it actually makes me ill (from the secret ingredients) and now I know why- KFC is SOYLENT GREEN!!!

gervicars · 06/04/2025 17:43

Some egg heads thought people would actually realise it was a river of gravy and the birth of the chicken nugget and gravy I had to Google it as I wondered why they were advertising Easter eggs 😂

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 06/04/2025 17:57

KFC has posters outside that say bathe in liquid gold.

Byt the ad gives a completely different message imo.

Trousername · 06/04/2025 19:03

It's simply grotesque. Guaranteed to offend just about everybody, with a dystopian undertone (Cannibalism? Factory-farmed meat as a religion?). It made me feel sick.

cavalier · 07/04/2025 21:23

I have to put it on hold and fast forward it
I hate it and the music is just crass and ick

CeciliaPeace · 12/04/2025 13:32

Well, I used to think these conspiracy theorists were nuts, but now I can see many of their theories becoming a reality, and I humble.

It is the literal sense of the advert that is the message. Maybe not entirely human, but one can only guess that as long as they disclose it, they have fulfilled their obligation and their duty, in whatever form. Now that we know, it is our responsibility to eat it or not. Big food chains have profits to think about, it's about number$ and number$ only. 'Hell with ethos', their ethos...

Well, I am off KFC for a long time, since I tried it without the batter, now is a definite never go back.

Gh1795 · 07/05/2025 21:48

I swear I seen a KFC ad either today or yesterday , caught the end of it. It had people in masks sat round a table possibly ‘worshiping’ in guessing chicken or gravy , lol. but I can’t find a thing about it online now I’m thinking was this a dream?! Has anyone else seen it? 😆

I've heard of a kentucky fried mouse so not surprised to see they're now deep frying humans

'Soylent Green is people!'

I'm assuming this isn't the look they were going for. They seem to be going for a 'dystopian aesthetic' what with this and the chicken idol one. Sure, it gets people talking, but only to ask, 'WT absolute F'? It's not a great ad.

Whats wrong with the halal meat, it's still chicken isn't it

Soylent green is not halal. It's people

My interpretation is that KFC think we’re cannibals
