Can anyone explain the KFC television advert to me?

It’s weird, are KFC advocating that we dip people and eat them? And what’s with the giant egg and dropping it? Maybe they want this kind of reaction 😂

The gravy dipped man, is just nasty. 🤢
Completely off putting.
I know the concept of reverse advertising, but with a foodstuff, it’s risky.
I will avoid for a long while.

Great diet technique, thinking of that, each time I consider a take away.

Same, is actually v grim and reminds of the 90s film 'young Indiana Jones' when the girl is bound and they human sacrifice her in oil!
That's those nightmares back, thanks KFC!
Their food = cannibalism then?...

ForSpoonyOP · 20/03/2025 18:40

KFC advertisement giving the off putting impression of frying people. It’s repulsive!

RJB73 · 20/03/2025 18:44

According to the conspiracy theory nut cases on Tik Tok, it's KFC's secret message telling us all they use human meat not chicken!

shiningstar2 · 20/03/2025 18:57

A whole human ...coated I KFC batter/breadcrumbs ..then dumped in a gravy river/sea ..so presumably drowned? How does this make the Great British Public want to eat KFC 🤔 I've never watched an advert less likely to make me want to buy 🤔😱

shiningstar2 · 20/03/2025 19:31

Just watched again. The human goes in the gravy lake first ...so presumably drowned then comes out covered IN KFC batter/breadcrumbs. So opposite way to what I described. But still a human goes in the gravy and comes out as a large portion of KFC. 😱🤔 Isa hint of cannabalism intended to make us salivate for KFC?? 🤔😱 Can't imagine who thought this would raise sales 😱🤔🤣

Reminds me of that line in the old Carry On Screaming film - "Frying tonight!".

It has kind of worked though , in the all publicity is good publicity stakes. I hadn’t seen it but googled it on the basis of Facebook and mumsnet comments.
that said , I’m not inspired to go and buy some …

elephantoverthehill · 20/03/2025 22:14

I agree about the hype working, a bit like the ‘Shake and Vac’ ad in the’70s, we were all talking about it in the playground afterwards as it was so different. However, especially after pp’s comments I am finding it quite distasteful. Not a problem though as I can’t eat the stuff.

I have just seen this advert, I think it’s revolting. I wonder what they are trying to tell us with it…..? I shall never eat KFC again now (not that I did much anyway), and I hope their sales plummet. Just 🤮

LoveItaly · 21/03/2025 11:51

Apparently it’s a fake, a friend saw the clip in a film recently and it’s been doctored to make it look like KFC for some reason. Really pleased about that.

That's nonsense - it's on the KFC website and in several marketing site articles. It's an actual advert.

It's not a fake- It's been broadcast on live tv!

Well in that case I am back to being disgusted

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 22/03/2025 02:23

Yeah it’s not fake. I just watched it broadcast again.

How did it pass the ad meeting??

TooBigForMyBoots · 22/03/2025 02:39

I love the Believe in Chicken ads.😆

I'm also partial to a KFC but they're on my boycott list so I haven't had any in a while and won't be having it any time soon.😤

madaffodil · 22/03/2025 20:16

I liked the cockerel on a pedestal one (reminds me slightly of Shaun of the Dead), but to say this latest effort is beyond peculiar would be an understatement.

Funkydung · 22/03/2025 21:00

KFC now using humans instead of chicken
so really should be KFH

Judellie · 22/03/2025 22:53

When I looked at the tv and saw this, I thought it was an episode of Stargate!Nothing to do with KFC - which I detest anyway so it's not going to make any difference to their sales from me, still not buying it.

IvyTwines · 22/03/2025 23:01

It's a bad advert. Someone thought they were being clever and was given a lot of money to spunk. It might have worked as a cartoon, with the man waking up at the end, phew, it was just a dream. As it is, it actually puts you off the product.

RabbitsRock · 23/03/2025 23:32

Just seen it for the first time - I sat stunned & said out loud “ What the bloody hell was that?”!!

BereftBeyondBelief · 24/03/2025 02:24

It is revolting and quite disturbing. Wont be eating there again.

SirDanielBrackley · 24/03/2025 02:25

It's just a piece of worthless shit. Just like their product.

madaffodil · 20/03/2025 14:57

In all my many decades on this good green Earth, I have never dunked anything resembling a chicken goujon into gravy. Garlic mayo yes, ketchup yes, sweet chilli sauce yes, but runny brown meaty gravy? Yuk.

Philistines.

Gravy is a staple food in the South of the USA. You dunk anything in gravy.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 24/03/2025 02:42

Even makes humans taste like chicken

GarlicStyle · 24/03/2025 03:49

Just watched it on YouTube 😂 It's creatively interesting, I'll give ;em that. The best part, though, is the YT comments! Loads of evangelists (or whatever church they frequent) boosting each other up about the End Times, demons, satanic baptisms and all that.

I want to tell them soothingly it's just an advert, but it probably wouldn't go well.
