Weird plumber, normal or I'm overthinking?

DH & I have renovated a derelict property. The plumbers are a father/ adult son company (both qualified) majority of the work done by the father so I only met the son once before this.

DH & I now live in the house. The en-suite shower had a leak, so DH contacted the father, who runs the plumbing company. I have 2 issues I feel uneasy about.

  1. I was at home alone and the plumber son arrived at the exact time as the post man. I opened the door to both, greeted the plumber and said come in, then took delivery of the post. I assumed the plumber would be standing behind me but he wasn't. I walked through the house and found him already in our en-suite upstairs.

Yes, that was the shower that needed looking at, but I found it odd that he proceeded to walk through the house now that we are living in it, without waiting 5 secs for me.

  2. We had a Japanese toilet installed in this en-suite. The 1st time I met the son a year ago, he went into great detail pointing out the lady wash function to me. 'That is YOUR button there, the lady wash.' I said fine, yes, I can see that. He said it again, pointing out the same button to which I said I would look up the manual if needed. He said it yet again, so I said I understood and changed the subject because it feel very odd.

Fast forward to today and he was there to fix the shower. He said to me 'So, do you enjoy the Japanese toilet. Do you use it much?.' WTF!

He said its the 1st such toilet they have installed, so I don't know if its genuine curiosity, he is socially inept or being pervy and weird?

Not sure why I posted but after thoughts on what others would feel?

Thanks everyone for their thoughts.

To clarify, when the plumber was last in the house, it was gutted, no doors, only some windows and not the home we are now living in.

I was seconds with the postman and no, I didn't expect the plumber to wander through the house upstairs without me. Any other trade we've had would have a brief conversation, 'Hi, How are you, would you like a cup of tea, we have an issue with the leak in the XYZ etc.'

The way he pointed at the lady wash function 3 times was bizarre and bordered on creepy/weird at the time when I said repeatedly I understood. I can only compare to the 20+ other trades we had on the house and this was the only one that made me feel very uncomfortable.

Just make sure your husband deals with him from now on or find a new plumber.

He sounds and bit odd, but more importantly do you use the functions?

I've seen those in hotels but I'm terrified when out and about I'll press the wrong thing and have to walk out soaked!

Ok I’ll say it - why is that a lady wash function? It says bidet and the picture is the top half of someone, presumably using the ‘water feature’. Aren’t bidets for washing arses in general?
