Gave me this. I love elephants.
He stopped in Asda on the way home after spending the day with his friends.
He is autistic and sometimes it's hard to gauge his emotions but I just found it so lovely that he thought of me 😭

That's the sweetest thing! And a very cute elephant.

Proudestmumofone1 · 10/03/2025 22:47

Oh this is so precious!!! You’ve just made my heart so full 🥰

Clearly smashed your job as a mama to have a son do this… 🥇

Waffle19 · 10/03/2025 22:49

what a brilliant son you have OP, you should be very proud of him and also of yourself for how you have raised him

Normallynumb · 10/03/2025 22:52

Oh Such a thoughtful gesture of his love for you. Made my heart melt!

Channellingsophistication · 10/03/2025 22:56

It’s so lovely that he thought of you and what a wonderfully refreshing post!

Mummyoflittledragon · 10/03/2025 23:33

How lovely. 😍

FagsMagsandBags · 10/03/2025 23:34

There's so much awfulness in the world at the moment, bad news, war, violence, so many really horrible people and then there's this which is just so lovely, so simple and so full of love.

Thank you for sharing this because it means I'll be off to my bed very shortly remembering that among all the rubbish there is so much beauty and kindness and love in all its many and wonderful ways out there and that's worth a lot. 💓🐘💓(I thought I'd add another elephant to thank you for giving all of us some love today)

Pinkandcake · 10/03/2025 23:36

Aww OP that’s warmed my heart on here. 🥰

My son has SEN and I would be so touched if he bought me something I liked, as like your son, it’s hard to gauge his emotions. I bet it means so much to you 🐘

pippapipps · 10/03/2025 23:38

How lovely 🥰

Middleagedstriker · 10/03/2025 23:40

Oh I love this. He definitely loves you. I now am hoping my autistic adult son will buy me a cuddly tiger.❤️

He once wrote me a song about being a great mum to the tune of danger mouse when he was 9 along with a full glass of (warm) white wine at 6am on Mothers day. It was my happiest day ever.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 10/03/2025 23:57

I suspect that, from his perspective, elephants are your special interest. He saw something related to your special interest and acquired it for you.

Saracen · 11/03/2025 00:08

😍How sweet! You've made me well up.

Dellspoem · 11/03/2025 00:28

He knocked on my bedroom, said 'for you' and (lightly) threw it at me 🤣🤣

Hahahahahahah!! That is lovely OP, he is a credit to you x

What a lovely present OP. But irrespective of what it is, it really is the thought that counts. You have brought him up to think of others, which doesn’t come easily to the autistic brain. Proud mum moment ❤️
My DS, also 18 and autistic, bought me some clothes pegs the other day, because he’d hung out the washing and noticed that mine were mismatched, old and broken! Not the most desirable present for some, but to me they are like the most precious diamonds and I smile every time I use them. He’s been to B&Q for my Mother’s Day present (his favourite place) so maybe I’m getting a new washing line to go with the pegs? 😂

LauderSyme · 16/03/2025 11:56

Oh how lovely, you will treasure that little elephant forever 😍

My autistic teen brought this handsome chap home for me after a day out!
