Dressing table for 6 year old

Would you go for a full size dressing table for 6 year old or a child’s one? (It’ll fit in an alcove so won’t be huge either way). Any suggestions?

Get her an adult sized one, she either grow into it or you can sell on. A child's sized one won't work if she is sitting there with you brushing her hair. DD is a little older than yours and she got hers last year.

She does play with make up and jewellery in the house but toys also have their homes in the drawers and she has a cd player for music. Most of the surface is used to display her favourite toys.

Crazy how judgemental people really are. I think if you're going to have a negative response you need not respond. She asked for ideas not judgement. Some of these people are so rude.

I came here as I'm looking at getting my 6 year old a dressing table. I don't agree with makeup for a young girl but everyone is different. I wanted it for her hair accessories, and many combs and brushes, maybe might get her a cheeky kids body cream that she can put on her face after she has washed it. But honestly. I'm so sorry OP that you've been targeted by so much negativity. I hope your little girl got an awesome dressing table xx

It’s not incredibly sad at all - you are being ridiculous.
Her bedroom is for relaxation, reading, sleeping and listening to her Yoto player. Plus she doesn’t play in it anyway as always wants to be downstairs wherever we are.
Ok so if I’d have asked for recommendations for a desk and chair (that would go in front of a mirror that’s on the wall in her bedroom already, say) that would be acceptable? Or is it inappropriate for 6 year olds to have mirrors in their bedrooms now too?

Found this thread after searching what size dressing table would be best for a 6 year old 🙊😂 who loves many things may I add, art, reading, dancing, music 🫶🏻 and before all the judgey peeps have a menty b over it….makeup when she dresses up! What did you go for in the end?

What’s wrong with a little girl having a dressing table? People are so weird at times.

Haha I didn’t - I was scarred for life after reading the reactions I got 😅 maybe next year I’ll get round to it!

Buy her a nice set of low drawers that can have a mirror on top and can store her trinkets and hair ribbons.

Buy her also a desk/table especially for drawing.
