Thick cut tiger bread, thickly spread lurpak on one slice and sauce spread on the other (ketchup for DS, brown for DP). Five crispy air fried fish fingers.

Fish fingers must be battered , none of that breaded nonsense.
A dollop of tartare sauce on each slice of bread. Bread should be lightly toasted.

Thick white bread, lightly toasted, butter, crispy battered fish fingers, chunky tartare sauce and little gem lettuce.

Tartare on one side, tomato ketchup on the other. 4 in a row and one on the top. If you can't fit 5, you need better bread.

Wholemeal or low GI bread, tartare, lettuce, fish fingers.

You can just chuck mine straight in the food waste bin.

For me a fish finger sandwich can only be:

cod Birds Eye fish fingers,
cheap nasty white bread,
lots of butter
and a puddle of ketchup on the side to dip.

Usually adore nice bread (it’s probably my favourite food 😂) but for a fish finger sandwich it has to be the ultra- processed cheap white loaf.

5 FFs, Granary bread. Home made spicy Marie Rose sauce (both in the sandwich, and on the side for dunking the 5th FF.)
Recipe: mayo, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne or chilli pepper, salt, pepper, lemon juice or red wine vinegar.
My policy for any sandwich is that it should have at least three combos: crunchy/soft, tangy/mellow, hot/cold etc, and this does that.

Thick, hand cut white bread, tartare sauce, rocket, squeeze of lemon, salt.

Served with posh salt and vinegar crisps on the side.

No bread. As many fishfingers as I fancy. I like the Sainsbury's cod fillet ones.

I've never had a fish finger sandwich but I'd try one with some tartar sauce and lettuce, salt and pepper.
