What do you do when you're feeling down for no reason, nothing's happened (and thankful for this, don't feel tired or hungry, not hormone related but you just feel down in the dumps. What cheers you up?

Dolambslikemintsauce · 01/03/2025 20:23

Repotting a few plants! Seeing how much they have grown - I must be getting a least something right!!

Wigtopia · 01/03/2025 20:23

Loud music (loud enough to cover up my singing over the top of it) and dancing while singing

Eldermilleniallyogii · 01/03/2025 20:26

You're not wrong @Lentilweaver but a bit late and dark for that now!

@LaPalmaLlama I don't really drink. Maybe I should 😂 Had some chocolate!

@Dolambslikemintsauce I've never taken to planting

@Wigtopia Kids are in bed so might need to en with headphones but having a sing and dance to music is a good one. I don't feel like getting up but I should...

Frssh air and exercise, just a walk can make all the difference.

Some upbeat music

A bit of writing, I like to get down on paper how I feel and I can usually trace it back to something and make sense of it.

Hope you can shift it soon!

AcquadiP · 01/03/2025 20:32

My dog.
Sunshine.
Having a walk (even a brisk 5 mins makes a difference.)
Hearing the birds sing.
The smell of my favourite perfume.

RedVelvetIcing · 01/03/2025 20:33

I’m stuck feeling like this the past week or so. I just need to let mine pass as stuff that usually works isn’t.

YouHaveAWomansHand · 01/03/2025 20:36

I watch true crime documentaries or read.

okydokethen · 01/03/2025 20:40

Feeling warm and cozy, blanket and or bed.
Netflix - watching alone, something of my choosing not DH or kids.
Hot tea and toast and marmite.
Chocolate (this doesn't actually help)
Everything shower.
Snuggle dogs.
Meeting a friend for coffee even if I think I don't want to go.
Early night.

Eldermilleniallyogii · 01/03/2025 20:49

I'm sorry you're feeling that way @RedVelvetIcing what are you up to tonight?

@YouHaveAWomansHand Any recommendations?

I'm in bed watching White Lotus

Watching Sweep fight for his life with some sellotape stuck on his head!

Maybe you have to be a certain age but it makes me cry with laughter Every. Single. Time.

GLC789 · 01/03/2025 20:51

Bath
Hot chocolate
New pj's
Fluffy socks
Candle lit
Good book

handsdownthebest · 01/03/2025 21:22

Riding my bike

Rosesducks · 01/03/2025 21:23

sometimes a bicycle ride when i need to think, then researching different subjects of intrest and / or reading on here

tobee · 01/03/2025 21:41

Drinking red wine and eating chocolate; reading a book if I'm not feeling too tired and anxious. Otherwise watching an old favourite black and white film.

I'm watching one now (Went the Day Well) but eating healthily so no choc or wine.

And, unfortunately, buying something, usually books or perfume 😬

tobee · 01/03/2025 21:42

Sorry you're feeling shit op!

Flomingho · 01/03/2025 21:47

Nice brisk walk in the fresh air, gym session or listening to some music. Or if feeling a bit lazy may binge watch a Netflix series

loveulotslikejellytots · 01/03/2025 21:51

Tulips. They are my favourite flower and most supermarkets have little £3 bunches this time of year. Just coming downstairs in the morning and seeing them perks me up.

And an odd one, but cleaning or organising. I know it's sad but organising that cupboard that's been pissing me off for weeks with Tupperware falling out if it daily, brings me so much joy. As does some freshly cleaned windows. Yes I know I need to get a hobby!

Gymmum82 · 01/03/2025 21:53

Exercise or a catch up with friends

Unescorted · 01/03/2025 21:54

Today it was a walk in the hills, prepping some printing plates, drying the washing outside (sad I know but line dry sheets and towels) and leaving a party early....

AuraBora · 01/03/2025 21:57

A long walk - especially with a bit of an ascent and good views. Been bit down all week and did this today in the sunshine feel a million times better.

babyproblems · 01/03/2025 21:59

Dog.
Sunshine (i am desperate this time of year)
shopping!!

TheChosenTwo · 01/03/2025 21:59

I’m in a bit of a grump today, possibly hormonal, and am just about to take myself out for a walk and a podcast!
Movement is the only thing that lifts my spirits sometimes, it’s not a total reprieve but it’s a nice little break from my own irritability 😂
