www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-14418429/amp/Katie-Price-reveals-son-Harvey-22-kicked-residential-care-home-difficult.html

Harvey's been told he needs to find a new residential care placement.

I've always had such a soft spot for that boy. His whole life, even before he was born, has been chaotic. I don't think he's ever had the stability he needs to thrive.

I feel bad for his siblings too. It must be a difficult burden for them to come to terms with.

As for Katie, well my heart goes out to her too. She's not perfect, but she's been treated badly by so many of her men, and the media generally.

It was on her instagram and Snapchat.

The whole family do it, they were all in bed with her naked mum the other day. It's bloody weird.

Why is everyone talking about whether they have sympathy for KP? That’s not what the story is about and it means literally nothing that you have no sympathy for her. I don’t understand why people even think things like that let alone type them out.

i feel really bad for Harvey, he’s very young to needs to move to a different setting- you would hope has he gets older his life would become a little easier.

it never fails to astonish me how much these residential facilities cost

LindorDoubleChoc · 22/02/2025 21:14

Is this a thread about KP? I thought it was about her son. I'm surprised anyone can be "chucked out" of residential care, seems rather shocking. Surely the state is expected to look after the most needy always?

I think it’s just that specific setting. The funding is still there they’ll have to find somewhere else

It said in the article. The LA do not believe he has any healthcare needs just social care needs so they are no longer funding his residential care. As I said earlier his mother has made millions and should have made provision for him. I feel very sorry for Harvey

He was always going to be in his residential college for 3 years. She has had months and months to sort out a place. The place she had has pulled out saying they can't meet his needs so she has to find a new place for him, or you know she could look after her own son like the millions of other parents do for their disabled children.

As usual it's lies, he hasn't been chucked out of anywhere, she has to make everything a drama in her life.

AquaPeer · 22/02/2025 21:26

If he needs life long residential care- and previously it seemed clear he did- there are very very few people who could fund £350k a year for life, privately. Billionaires, maybe

pepsirolla · 22/02/2025 21:30

She said herself recently that he was due to leave Star College as he has to due to his age and he had a place that is suitable to help him develop some independence but when they did further checks on him it was found to be unsuitable for him. He is not being kicked out and SS will be looking for a more suitable one.
He could live with her with carers and adjustments for his disability but she won't want that he hasn't lived full time at home since he was 16.
She has never cared for him on her own always had various nannies most very young and unqualified. Dwight paid her mum a lot to look after him too.
I feel so sorry for Harvey she hasn't allowed him to reach his full potential, hasnt even bothered learning makaton which he uses and just exploits him for money and good mummy points.

BobbyBiscuits · 22/02/2025 21:30

I'm surprised you believe any of the tales she sells to tabloids about her poor son's predicament.

There really are more worthy people in the world of sympathy.

She's a vacuous coke head who cares more about having multiple unnecessary life endangering surgeries and ill advised relationships with younger men who use her for fame than she does for providing a stable family life to any of her children.

In my opinion.

Starlightstarbright4 · 22/02/2025 21:44

He does have high care needs, can be violent and destructive.

Not every care setting can manage Harvey.

With KP i think the biggest issue is yes she drags him out at times of need sympathy and that has passed
There are the people who try and excuse her behaviour - she has mh issues , she has had this and that happen. She has had the resources to help herself... She has had the resources to help Harvey.

I think people also forget she has played the media game since she was a young teen.. She understands how the media work and exploits them .

I also am appalled that channel 4 paid for her IVF journey.. there are people far more interesting and far more worthy of a show on their journey..She absolutely should have no more children or animals for that matter.#

The one thing I think KP does lack is the people around her to tell her wht a shit show she is and has created.

Lots of famous people or influencers with disabled children or family members really do over share some very personal details in the spirit of "awareness" in my opinion. Harvey has had every one of his diagnosis out for public consumption since his birth.
I've seen online sen children have their personal hygiene or incontinence discussed to the whole Internet when they have absolutely no capacity to agree to that.
I use MN to discuss my own child with disabilities with other parents who understand the struggle and I understand theirs, but the idea of sharing my ds story when people could picture him or knew who I was talking about would feel like I was hugely infringing on his privacy.
Whenever I see Harvey who reminds me so much of very vulnerable people I've cared for, being shared and being either adored by strangers who are overly familiar and invested it makes me feel a bit weird or worse he is ridiculed and the punch line of jokes, it's just unfair. That man didn't choose the limelight. He deserves privacy and respect, he gets neither.
Harvey Price is either infantalised by people who have no idea how complex he may be or mocked by people who are less intelligent than yeast.

I always felt the same about Kate Garraway's husband Derek. She completely over shared his personal needs and the poor man had no dignity. Even now he has gone she is still gurning on the front of magazines and making money off his misfortune.

absolutely no sympathy for KP whatsoever

Residential provisions give notice all the time, if they feel they can no longer keep themselves or the client safe or if funding isnt forthcoming from the LA (or prviately), they will give notice. Its not unsual

Doubt she'd pass the required DBS check required for working with vulnerable adults with her criminal record.

Craftysue · 22/02/2025 22:25

She's used that poor boy since the day he was born. He's been afforded no privacy at all, just wheeled out for her publicity stunts. I feel sorry for all her children but not for her.

CrazyOldMe · 23/02/2025 02:53

In regards to Dwight, he's obviously awful. People keep saying "what about the dad?", but Dwight's absence doesn't excuse KP's exploitation of Harvey.

Whilst I do have sympathy for Katie, I do think that Harvey has two terrible parents in very different ways. That's why I hope he can find a suitable residential placement, a place where his needs will come first.

the stuff about Star college is very odd. mostly its from 19-22 and only ever for 3 years. the council stopping funding before the end of the 3 years is not something i have heard off.
how much money his parents have would have had no baring as he is over 18.

No one knows its about whether the council are funding it or not, its more than likely they've just given notice and cant continue the placement.

Samcro · 23/02/2025 08:33

he is 22, he would have left anyway.

MatchaTea1 · 23/02/2025 08:45

I just read the article you linked to OP, I am shocked that she expects her local council to pay £350k per year for him to attend that college, that is an insane amount of money that must be taking away from other services benefitting multiple people.

bifurCAT · 23/02/2025 08:50

I don't think it's her bad luck, I think it's her bad judgement.

She's not a nice person. Giving out very strong gold digger vibes. The way she talks about men on the daytime shows tells me everything I need to know.

Her kids and pets are the real victims.
