Have you had Heck chicken sausages?

I've tried them for the first time. Is it normal for them to contain bone, or have I just been very unlucky?

No but I've got some in the fridge and will no longer be cooking them just in case 🤮

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 19/02/2025 14:30

I used to love them but they are not my friend (IBS). Never had bone. Did watch a programme recently about Heck though and it was about cutting meat content down to make a profitable product which they they couldn't do at their original level.

Missionimprobable · 19/02/2025 14:32

I bought some for a treat for ddog, cooked them, they looked vile inside and ddog turned her nose up at them.
Enough said

theboffinsarecoming · 19/02/2025 14:35

DH bought them by mistake once. They were as dull as ditchwater.

2dogsandabudgie · 19/02/2025 14:36

Have never heard of chicken sausages, but have just googled them, it does say whilst they carefully remove any bones some may still remain.

I tried googling but didn't find anything that mentioned that. Do you have a link?

I tend to agree. I bought them because they were on offer, and I've had some really good chicken sausages before. Don't think I'll bother again.

Tasteless and the skins were like plastic.

Yuk

LuckySantangelo35 · 19/02/2025 14:43

They are low cal and they taste like it

nocoolnamesleft · 19/02/2025 14:55

The chicken Italia ones by Heck are good, but the plain chicken ones are a bit boring. Never had bones in either.

Scampuss · 19/02/2025 14:59

I have tried most Heck things as they're gluten free, they're also all awful. And not because they're gluten free, loads of sausages are GF and lovely!

Haribosweets · 19/02/2025 15:01

I love heck chicken sausages - the chicken Italian and sweet spicy ones are the best. Never had any issues with bones but good to know I'll be more mindful now

BaconMassive · 19/02/2025 15:04

They need more bacon

Isobel201 · 19/02/2025 15:21

I prefer Tescos chicken sausages, they're better quality than heck ones. I've never come across bones in them though.

FlyingUnicornWings · 19/02/2025 15:22

Yep. Dry and tasteless.

Saturdaynightlive · 19/02/2025 15:28

Chickens have bones. It can't come as a surprise that meat products may contain bones?. It's like being shocked there was a creature in your salad leaves.

What a ridiculous waste. It's meat. What do you expect? 🙄

CurlewKate · 19/02/2025 15:32

The company are big donors to the Tory party-I stopped buying them when I found out. Shame-they are very good!

likerocksfalling · 19/02/2025 15:47

I watched an old program about the family last night, with Alex from the hotel inspector in it.

Not ridiculous when I'd be serving to my young children and don't want to risk them getting a bit of bone.

Glad of the warning as they were for tea.

Yirk · 19/02/2025 15:59

Richmond chicken sausages are nice.

News to me. It's considered quite normal to come across a little bit of bone/gristle in meat sometimes. Fish have the odd little bone too. It's all part of learning how to eat food and develop table manners and dining skills.
