Anyone watching the Super Bowl?

The hype is always insane but I kind of enjoy the pageantry 😂

I’m watching it a bit, DH, DS and the cats are watching it intently. But I’m a New Yorker, so it just a bit after 7:00 PM here.

I like the adverts as much as the game.

No, that’s next Monday, which is President’s Day. No holiday this week.

Edited to add that the game should be over by 9:30 or so on the East Coast, and earlier for the rest of the country, so going to work the next day shouldn’t be a problem, unless you’ve had too much to drink.

I'm half watching. Dh & kids have gone across the street to the neighbors' party. I'll probably head over for the half-time show. There are always good snacks at a SB party. Not sure I'd know a Kendrick Lemar song if I heard it, but I'm sure it will be a good show anyway. Haven't spotted Taylor yet.

Yes. I predict that the Eagles will be winning all the way though and then Mahomes will do something spectacular in the last few seconds and the Chiefs will win. And everyone will pretend they're really surprised and it's not a fix.

There's no right answer on football vs American football. I get why people find American football stop-starty but on the other side, football can just be endless passing where nothing happens

I will admit to welling up a bit at the pre game section when they were making the victims of the New Orleans terrorist attack honorary captains. SO much has happened in this country over the last 6 weeks, I'd almost forgotten that even happened.

Super bowl is almost more about the food than the drink, people eat loads and don't necessarily get blotto unless their teams in it

For the people calling it a poor man's rugby I'd suggest you learn some of the rules. The game is much more tactical, hence the stop start. Also, it is really a lot more dangerous than rugby, hence the safety guy. You aren't allowed to run head on into someone in rugby are you?

I watched the documentaries ‘Quarterback’ and ‘Receiver’ on Netflix recently and it gave me a bit more appreciation for the tactics of American football.

I’m in Florida this week and so am watching and trying to understand it. It’s been about 80% adverts so far!
