I was watching an old episode of gogglebox - they were watching the final episode of Its a Sin and I instantly started tearing up. I remember when I watched it I couldn’t stop crying for hours - the scene where the main character is in hospital and tells his mum, he just looks like a scared boy. I thought it was a fantastic series but il never watch it again.
Is there a scene in a series that just sticks in your head and that emotion comes straight back as soon as you think about it?

Last episode of MASH

For me it would be the episode where they announce the death of Henry Blake. Apparently only Alan Alda knew it was going to happen and they broadcast the first take because althought it contained some mistakes (a nurse dropping an instrument) it was the most real.

After that it became the "Alan Alda Show" and lost its meaning.

Instantly as soon as I seen your title I thought “it’s a sin” before I read the post. Amazing and tragic in equal measures.

Dont know if this has been mention, and cant remember if it was mini series or a one off, but Mr Tom.

The scene where the poor boy is found under the stairs clutching his sister will never leave me.

Holding On. It followed rille living in London in the1990s. I don’t think it was ever repeated.

I remember this, it was fantastic. Phil Daniels was in it. You can't stream it anywhere; I've tried!

The 1960s Singing ringing tree TV series, the most disturbing kids programme ever!
Also add Ken Dodd and the Diddy men..

Yes!!!

I've got the DVD even though the TV series scared the shit out of me when I watched it as a child in the 60s.

I loved all those weird East German kids shows from behind the iron curtai.

Also loved Noggin the Nog!

LongDistanceClara44 · 09/02/2025 00:07

Came here also to say Wish Me Luck.

Also Howard's way. And clocking off

Foy19 · 09/02/2025 00:09

Bod - weirdest programme ever, even though it was for kids Confused the producers must have been on something.

Hamish Macbeth !

and ‘Extras’ - especially the one with David Bowie - “chubby little fat man”

Years and years ago. A series called survivors where there was a pandemic and only a few people survived. They shot an innocent guy for rape before the real culprit confessed. I was a child but it stayed with me.

Great series I was doing my Alevels at the time.

Episodes still avaiable on Youtube

I wasnt even born when it came out but the six wives of Henry the eigth with Keith Michele as Henry.

The scene where Anne of Cleves pours him a drink smiling and she agrees to a annulment.
She then goes outside to sit on a stone bench and begins sobbing realising her life has been saved she wont be meeting the same fate of Anne Boleyn which she really feared.
Thomas Cranmer goes to comfort her and gently lets her know she did the right thing and that Thomas Cromwell is to be executed because Henry thinks he failed him suggesting Anne as a bride in the first place.
Thomas Cranmer tells Anne who is devastated that Cromwell is to die because of her to just pray he will meet a swift gentle death without being put to fire.

I was just about to say the same.
The rape scene is the most disturbing thing I've ever seen on television.

My first thought, too.

It was just so realistic and horrific.
