I don’t know if the link will work but she talks about how amazing women were on here when she posted during her marriage break up.

i think she’s great and This Country has got me through some dark treatment days I can watch it over and over. Am I being Unreasonable starts this week. Fab I won’t have to speak to anyone and can just stick my iPods in.

I'm a huge fan of hers.
She is great

Yawningisinfectious · 04/02/2025 17:10

I have no idea who she is but indeed it was a great tribute to Mumnet.

It's just unfortunate that sometimes the helpful, wise, insightful and supportive posts are sometimes hidden in amongst the vitriolic ones.

wipeywipe · 04/02/2025 17:18

This is country & AIBU are amazing!

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 04/02/2025 17:21

I love her

Rain dogs was good as was aibu

I like the fact that she's chaotic as a single and married mum in the respective programmes

Mumsnet has its flaws but I do love it and it has kept me sane during tough times tbh, especially the funny posts x and the men bashing ones 🤭

the80sweregreat · 04/02/2025 17:31

I liked Raindogs too
It was very good

gettingolderbutcooler · 04/02/2025 17:49

I wish I was her bestie.

forgotmyusername1 · 04/02/2025 17:51

in case she is reading this waving at Daisy May Cooper We think you are fab

the80sweregreat · 04/02/2025 17:52

I think she'd be a really loyal friend and just kind.

AshCrapp · 04/02/2025 18:13

AIBU is one of my favourite shows. I found it moving and hilarious in equal measures. The whole thing is a real love letter to MN.

ChillieChicky · 04/02/2025 18:16

Did anyone see that thread about Jason orange…. Where is Jason orange? I think that was her 😂 hello Daisy-May!

Birdbox181 · 04/02/2025 18:19

This Country got DS through some really tough times when he started secondary school. He'd get home, we'd sit down, watch an episode, eat biscuits and laugh together.

5 years later and he's doing his gcses, much happier with great friends. We still watch it now. Mandys our favourite.

So yes, DMC gets our seal of approval.

peachescariad · 04/02/2025 18:20

gettingolderbutcooler · 04/02/2025 17:49

I wish I was her bestie.

Agreed! Wouldn't she just be the bff.

the80sweregreat · 04/02/2025 18:21

Mandy was hysterical
' what did you buy Mandy ?'
' a pillowcase and a brick'
What a character!!

HoraceCope · 04/02/2025 18:21

i loved Am I being Unreasonable, so glad it is coming back

IWillAlwaysBeinaClubWithYouin1973 · 04/02/2025 18:22

I did hear it and I was interested when she said she posts about being badly organised and not getting lunch boxes right and stuff like that, and I think of the times I've seen people torn to shreds because they couldn't get the kids to school on time or were working part time with a baby and hard up so told to take on more hours. I don't know where DMC has seen any great empathy and understanding on here?! Years ago maybe, but now if you dare to say that things aren't right in your house you are fair game.

So no, DMC, I love you, but MN on the whole no longer supports mums like you.

Lou7171 · 04/02/2025 18:23

Haven't seen AIBU but I love This Country, she's bloody brilliant.

Ukholidaysaregreat · 04/02/2025 18:23

OMG! Love Daisy May Cooper! Love Mumsnet! How exciting!

Dappy777 · 04/02/2025 18:28

Oh, I love This Country. It's so sweet. Too much modern comedy is ugly and cruel (just listen to Jimmy Carr or the vile Frankie Boyle). This Country manages to be gently funny without being either mawkish or nasty (it's a bit like P. G. Wodehouse). I also love the simplicity of their lives. You know, the way Kurtan gets so wound up over a scarecrow competition, or the way a whole episode revolves around Kurtan wanting to go clothes shopping, etc. I also love the shots of the countryside. Nice to think there are still villages that haven't been ruined by disgusting new build housing estates – for now.

SabrinaThwaite · 04/02/2025 18:29

She’s great on the Uncanny podcast too.

Looking forward to Beyond Black.

MrsCarson · 04/02/2025 18:30

I've only seen a couple of This country shows, but found it very funny. Witchfinder was very good too.

TangledTeabags · 04/02/2025 18:40

She's lucky since many people on here looking for advice get absolutely roasted and humiliated.
I have had some amazing help as well as some terrible bullying.
It's a bit like russian roulette.

Traitorgator · 04/02/2025 18:46

She’s hilarious in This Country. My teens both laugh out loud at it.
I haven’t watched AIBU but sometimes clips of it come up on my reels and it looks good so might give it a go

ReaderIGhostedHim · 04/02/2025 19:09

Massive fan of Daisy.

loved her ‘where there’s a will there’s a wake” podcast episode with Kathy Burke hosting. Got me through a tough day.

SabrinaThwaite · 04/02/2025 18:29

She’s great on the Uncanny podcast too.

DairyLeanne · 04/02/2025 19:21

Oooh so she's on here somewhere 😁 loved This Country. Was one of my lockdown binge watches and I still return to it now. Would love to see a This Country Christmas Special [hint hint if she's reading this].
