Doncaster wedding witness

Hi, I’ve got my marriage ceremony on 5th feb 2025 and have only got 1 witness. We’re telling family or friends after the ceremony. And everyone else I’ve asked is not available. Register office don’t supply witnesses. Is someone from Doncaster available to be a witness for me

Might be easier to just pull someone in off the street who is passing than someone travelling out of their way

We did this 34 years ago. Just politely asked someone off the street. Take a moment to not pick a harassed looking Mum or disreputable looking unshaven druggie!

Are you assuming Doncaster is out of the way for all MNers?

Me too, I’d love to do it. I had to sit on my hands to stop myself saying yes to OP as my sat nav says it would take 3 1/2 hours to get to Doncaster, and that’s at 9pm, not the middle of the day!

Can you do this now? We had thought about it for our wedding 20+ years ago but you had to give the details of witnesses in advance.
