I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Dd1 is going out shortly so has joined me this morning & is talking an awful lot 🙄

I'm off to Morrisons in just over an hour ish. We need a proper shop for the first time since Christmas.

Dd2's staying here to do her homework for the week & chill a bit after an exam on Friday and going out last night.

When we get in, the house needs a proper clean and tidy...it's a bit of a pigsty after a busy week 🙈. Hopefully it won't take long to get into a reasonable state again!

I have no idea what we're having for tea - something quick and easy once the shopping's done is in order I think.

This evening it'll be early showers and early nights all round. I had my Self Care scrubby everything shower last night, before going out, so just a quick one tonight. Then settle down with my book for an hour before bed 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Morning lucysmam

I've been awake since 7:30am! Excitement I think!

I'll be waking the DC's up soon. DC1 is working this morning. Works in the same town his dad lives so I will also be dropped DS2 off there for the week.

Home to finish packing, tidy, change beds etc. also need to shave legs etc etc

Drop DDog off at pet sitter around 5pm

Flying off for some winter sun early morning tomorrow so will leave for airport around 2am. Hoping to get a nap in at some point.

We had our honeymoon in sept and I was poorly for most of it (Covid and food poisoning) so hoping this makes up for that a little bit! It'll be around 24 degrees when we get there!

Lasagne for dinner later I think

(DC are late teens and are quite used to spending half their time with their father before someone jumps on my about leaving my children Grin)

Good morning @lucysmam and all
Just returned from a blustery dog walk. Made a cup of tea for me and DH and gone back to bed. No plans today other than Dh doing a trip to the recycling centre. Might wash the kitchen floor ( muddy dog paws) and an online exercise class later today. Planning a family reunion next month and that is taking some effort to organise so might tackle that too today.

lissie123 · 26/01/2025 09:11

@MessyNeate have a fantastic holiday!

Mogloveseggs · 26/01/2025 09:11

Good morning!
Slow one here today. Ds is poorly with a bug so no football today. He's fast asleep, has been since 1am yesterday but I think he might want food today.

I've been up since 5.30am with the dog (only a pup) so think it's time for some breakfast. Dh did it yesterday so i left him in bed.
Need to tidy up as ddog has destroyed a toy and take him for a walk.
Later is clean out the fridge and sort meals for the week.
No school for Ds tomorrow I don't think so not rushing with uniforms etc.

WomenInConstruction · 26/01/2025 09:14

Currently luxuriating in a rare lie in which is cos I went out with Dh last night for rare night out (kids just old enough to be left alone now) and ended up agreeing to see if we can have a holiday this year!
A shock as we haven't had a holiday in 10 years (finances swallowed by bigger higher priorities), I've no idea where to start so will be researching that today, might start a thread for suggestions!

Also need to get a shop in and check what homework the kids need to do.
Might take some stuff to the tip.
Feeling relaxed and happy which is lovely on a Sunday.

CustardCream31 · 26/01/2025 09:18

Happy Sunday.
Lazy morning here with lots of tea and pancakes! Then a soft play adventure later to hide from the rubbish weather....
Wishing everyone a peaceful day.

AtticusCatticus · 26/01/2025 09:20

Good morning! Currently trying to recaffeinate.

Today will include the usual highlights: washing; meal planning; shopping; cooking. As an extra highlight I’m sorting out ski kit to decide what still fits. And I have some work to do before Monday so will be getting on with that so that next week will be easier than last week.

Calypsocuckoo · 26/01/2025 09:24

Good morning all!
we are having an easy day home today, finishing the laundry, packing up some Vinted parcels, having the cars cleaned, maybe a bit of decluttering. I have made up a recipe for some egg bites which are cooking in the oven so I am hoping they are nice and will give me another option for savoury breakfasts as I am doing the Glucose Goddess plan.
wishing everyone good vibes for the day and the week ahead 😎

FlorencenotRatchet · 26/01/2025 09:26

Morning @lucysmam and all happy Sunday.
I've done a 10k run this morning and am off to meet a friend now for a walk with tea and cake afterwards.
Back home this afternoon I'll cook a roast and then have a relaxing evening before the week ahead.
Enjoy your day everyone.

LoudPlumDog · 26/01/2025 09:27

OP - does your DH help you at home? You always seem to be doing it all.

Its nearly dinner time here, DH is cooking steak and veggies, so looking forward to that.

We visited our daughter’s resting place that we buried her in last November. Took some flowers from our garden.

I did a deep clean of the bathroom this morning, then a nice shower and washed my hair. Made some zucchini muffins too.

RabbitsRock · 26/01/2025 09:30

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Hope you all had a lovely evening for your DD’s 18th @lucysmam 🎈🎉🎆💥🎇🎁🎂🍾🥂💐
In bed having just finished the first cuppa of the day, listening to the wind & rain. It’s pretty rough out there! Unfortunately I’m working later, although it’s always busy on Sundays so my shift will go quickly. Afterwards, I’m going to see my folks as DM was discharged from hospital recently. Nice easy tea planned of chicken kievs, chips & petitpois. Will watch Call The Midwife then a few episodes of The Resident. Sadly we’re nearly at the end of the final series. Hopefully a 7th will be made at some point. Suggestions for a Netflix or Disney Plus series are welcome. Not horror fans. Another task for today is to find something to wear for a pub meal tomorrow night. Because I’ve lost so much weight, I don’t have many clothes that fit me. Pretty sure I got rid of all my black evening trousers, for example. Lived in leggings for years so trying to avoid those. My wardrobe door is currently blocked by piles of carrier bags & a basket of stuff to be photographed for selling so that needs to be sorted. Have a good Sunday all 🙂

Kim82 · 26/01/2025 09:31

Good morning everyone. Just me awake so far this morning and dd20 is at work.

Plans for the day include stripping beds, washing, scrubbing the bathroom and hoovering. The whole house needs doing top to bottom really but I just don’t have the energy to do it all today. I also need to nip to Aldi and Iceland for a couple of things they didn’t have at Tesco. I’ll then cook a lasagne for tomorrow’s tea so I don’t have to cook when I get home from work and I also need to iron school and work clothes for the week.

Tonight’s tea is the ribs and sweet potato fries we were meant to have last night - we ended up going to Costco and bought one of their huge pizzas and had that instead. Then it’ll be homework, showers and early to bed.

JingsMahBucket · 26/01/2025 09:32

Morning @lucysmam and everyone! Still in bed but I’ll crawl out soon to have breakfast then shower and wash my hair. OH is going for a long bike ride with a friend and I’ll set some washing going before I head out for a small grocery shop.

I didn’t change the sheets yesterday so that’s on today’s tasks after returning from the shop. More client work to finish and getting myself set up for the week.

Dinner tonight will be leftover soup plus grilled cheese sandwiches. I still need to make the couscous salad and meatballs that were meant for yesterday. Last night OH decided to make lentil soup on a whim so that relieved me from dinner duty. I need to do some meal planning this evening too. We’re running down the freezer and I need to get my head around it. A chicken and dhal curry may be on the menu this week.

Have a relaxed day everyone!

MantleStatue · 26/01/2025 09:35

I have just returned from Australia so was up at 4 am with jetlag.

Today I am taking DS1 to the bus station to sort out his student bus card. Then we are buying him some underwear and I am buying a sweater i have had my eye on (its in navy blue and emerald green). Then MacDonalds for lunch (Big Mac) and a trip to the pub next to the bus station for a glass of wine before bussing home.

The afternoon is ironing, netflix and freezer surprise for dinner- not much of a surprise, it will be a creamy chicken casserole.

JMAngel1 · 26/01/2025 09:38

Morning all
Had a potter about the kitchen tidying already and rebooted the laundry.
Now back in bed with a cappuccino finishing my book - Pineapple
Street- can highly recommend if looking for an escapism piece of fluff book.

Will get up in around an hour - bliss - and get ready to drop DD1s at a friends and then go on into town with DD2 for a mooch in shops as she still has Xmas money burning a hole in her pocket. We’ll probably get a lunch/coffee put them back home to tidy/laundry put away.

Simple dinner with a film tonight and school uniforms to sort.
Early night to continue watching Black Doves in bed - I’m hooked!

Have a good day everyone.

ForTheLoveOfGrace · 26/01/2025 09:38

Love these threads, especially on a Sunday thanks @lucysmam

DD and I are in bed chilling on iPads after a very hectic week.

I'm just about to make some breakfast muffins before we head out to the shops to spend some of her christmas vouchers and then see Moana 2 at the cinema.

DH is currently jet washing ours cars and will be making roast beef for us to come home to for dinner 🤤

Hope you all have a good day.

Hedjwitch · 26/01/2025 09:39

Morning all. Will get up soon and head to garden centre for a browse,a coffee and a birthday card for ds.
Plan to make leek and potato soup and some Rocky Road later. Bathroom needs to be cleaned.
That's about it.

KIlliePieMyOhMy · 26/01/2025 09:41

Good morning to you.
I shall be channelling my inner Emma Grundy and taking a damaged branch down from a tree that put a nice extra whole in my windscreen. I am looking at ladders as I type.

dontforgetme · 26/01/2025 09:44

Good morning @lucysmam and all! Hope your dd had a fantastic 18th birthday night!

A little hungover here this morning after yesterday's family get together, am just catching up on MOTD on the sofa with dp and a cuppa. Kids are on video call with their cousin. Love hearing them chatting and laughing.

Promised the kids a McDonald's for lunch as it was payday on Friday. Other than that a quiet day at home. Will do a load of washing and get uniforms ready. May watch The Wild Robot for the 5th time, absolutely love it!

Pamosonic · 26/01/2025 09:44

Dragged my son out of bed ready to do his online maths tutorial at 10. He's eating his breakfast watching the football highlights with his Dad. I've just showered. Weather is pants here today but we are going to the travel agent later to book our holiday to Australia.

Oh wow. I literally just posted below about booking our trip this afternoon to go to Australia later in the year. Where did you go?

PiastriThePastry · 26/01/2025 09:48

Good morning all! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday!

Slow one here I think. It’s absolutely hooning it down outside and blowing a gale so I don’t think we’ll be doing much outdoors today, which is unusual to be honest. I’ve been out to sort the horses/walk dogs/feed up etc and that’s quite enough for 7.5 month pregnant me!!
Going to go for coffee and cake with DS in a minute, he’s been asking to go for a few days and I need to buy birthday gifts for my youngest niece and nephew so two birds and all that. This afternoon will be puzzles and carpet farming in front of the wood burner for DS and generally milling about for me; laundry, cleaning the kitchen, general tidying.
Husband is back from a stag do later on today but I am quite sure won’t be up to much so a lazy evening I suspect! I’ll be angling for him to go and get a Chinese takeaway.

LightCameraBitchSmile · 26/01/2025 09:53

Morning all.

I've been up since about 8 when ddog1 came in to announce it was morning. Laid around in bed for a bit with my book, and now sat with a cuppa in the kitchen while ddog2 whines in my ear about the fact he can hear a dog barking outside.

Off out for a walk with ddogs and friends in a bit then back to cook a big roast this afternoon for everyone.

Then I think we'll watch some trash telly and get ready for the week ahead.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 26/01/2025 09:54

Morning all!

Hope you have a fab time @MessyNeate !

DS made a miraculous recovery from the start of a cold yesterday morning (incredible what some sofa time and Minecraft YouTube videos can do for a sniffy 5yo! Far better than lemsip 😂) so went out with a friend last night to a 'dance' and didn't get back til 10:30pm, his latest night on record...

Cue not waking up til 9am this morning, having a shower and promptly going back to sleep! Is this what the future holds when he's a teen?

Just finished putting away the Ocado shop and am feeling quite domestic so will whip up some breakfast muffins for this week I think. Maybe even a focaccia.

Then want to do some research into gardening - I've literally never done anything bar begrudgingly cutting the grass and trimming the hedges, but I've been following a kitchen garden 'influencer' and have somehow convinced myself I could totally grow my own veggies 😏

2 birthday parties this afternoon so will be ferrying DS about. There's an hour between parties (at the same venue) so debating nipping into the adjacent 'big Tesco' to pick up some new Tupperware and the babybels that got left off the Ocado order.

Will catch up with housework this evening and then have a frozen pizza once DS is asleep and watch a movie - probably Harry Potter as I'm in a spooky mood ✨

LyricalGangsta · 26/01/2025 09:56

Led in bed right now. About to get up.
Go to Tesco then take the 16yo to his match. Not sure after, just see how it pans out.
Oh, definitely wash the school/work clothes. Thanks for reminding me Grin
