Need some inspo for a night in with a film!

Bridget Jones was my first thought.

comedycentral · 25/01/2025 20:08

I watched the new Twisters last week, it was pretty good!

BiggerBoat1 · 25/01/2025 20:09

Good shout - Twisters is really good.

The Holdovers is a really lovely film.

Littletreefrog · 25/01/2025 20:13

Saving Grace the one with Brenda Blethyn, trust me you won't regret it.

Palm springs

weegiemum · 25/01/2025 20:16

Local Hero is my favourite.

Sadly we're sitting in the dark after the storm yesterday, using phones we charged up in the car earlier on (was warmer in the car too!

Cosycore · 25/01/2025 20:16

Top Gun Maverick

SmellLikeStreepForCheap · 25/01/2025 20:16

The Life of David Gale

One of the first three Bourne films. Where Eagles Dare (Clint Eastwood and Richard Burton). Some Like It Hot. Withnail and I. This is Spinal Tap. Just about any film directed by Hitchcock or Powell & Pressburger. The Belles of St Trinian's. Kind Hearts and Coronets. The Ladykillers (Alec Guinness version). The Maltese Falcon. The Third Man. Brief Encounter. The Robert Donat version of The 39 Steps. The Lady Vanishes (Michael Redgrave version).

I am going to watch Clouds of Sils Maria, which is exactly the kind of unplotty French film I Iike, with Kristen Stewart being very impressive as famous actress Juliette Binoche’s personal assistant, and lots of significant silences and alpine scenery.

Or DS will make me watch Sonic the Hedgehog 2. 😀

Overtheatlantic · 25/01/2025 20:22

Jurassic Park
Evil Under the Sun with Maggie Smith (RIP)

Throw momma from the train.

Just watched Hairspray for the first time in years with DD7. It was absolutely brilliant and very witty.

FromCuddleLand · 25/01/2025 20:55

A room with a view, sigh.

icebearforpresident · 25/01/2025 21:00

DH and I are watching Booksmart on iplayer. Really funny and reminds me so much of myself in high school (not necessarily in a good way)

shellyleppard · 25/01/2025 21:02

Planes, trains and automobile for comedy, hidden figures for history 😍

MaxJLHardy · 25/01/2025 21:02

The Leopard

Viviennemary · 25/01/2025 21:04

Along came Polly jennifer Annistin is very funny (but a bit daft). Also Private Bejamin Goldie Hawn.

PiastriThePastry · 25/01/2025 21:05

I’m currently watching The Town, it leaves Prime in a few days. I’ve also recently rewatched the godfather 1&2, for the same reasons!

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 25/01/2025 21:07

The Banshees of Inisherin. Or, The Killing of a Sacred Deer.
I’m in that sort of mood…

Wishboneswishes · 25/01/2025 21:08

Remains of the Day

Sense and Sensibility

Far from the Madding Crowd - Carey Milligan is incredible in this!

RobertJohnsonsShoes · 25/01/2025 21:10

Ah I love some of these!
