Just that really, thought it was so well done, what a great little actor! 😭

Why not move this to the telly addicts thread.
Don't think anyone here cares!

wineandagoodbook · 07/01/2025 13:41

Sorry, I am new and I didn't know there was one!

There is a Coronation Street thread and this has been and is being discussed on there.

It was harrowing. The two young lads (Mason and Dylan), knocked it out of the park.

Such a sad ending for what had been a great arc for Mason, from being the cruel bully, to exploring the reasons he became a bully, to his redemption, then cruelly killed by his abusers before he left for a promising future.

It'll be interesting watching how Dylan copes with the guilt of knowing that his decision to bring a knife to defend them, ultimately led to Mason's death.

We saw what would have been if his brothers had just beaten him, battered and bruised, but ultimately able to carry on. Then we saw what happened because Dylan unwittingly supplied them with a lethal weapon.

The two different scenarios, juxtaposed, made the episode more gripping and hard-hitting.

madaboutpurple · 07/01/2025 14:05

Must admit I cried my eyes out.If it makes teenagers realise how knife crime affects people it will have been worthwhile.

wineandagoodbook · 07/01/2025 14:09

I sat and sobbed, thought it was so well told with the 'sliding doors' storyline.

They should play it in schools.

What happened? Don't know who these characters are. Not seen it for 15 years.

MrsCarson · 07/01/2025 14:19

I cried for them too.

They tackled knife crime, really well and really emotional

Gosh, so rude and unnecessary. If you don't care you don't need to open the thread.

ruethewhirl · 07/01/2025 14:31

No way! I'm not up to date with episodes and had no idea this was round the corner. How sad, just when the character was shaping up to be a better person.

Charming.

wrenhair · 07/01/2025 14:35

Haven't seen it for years but got me curious op, might have a look later. Is it a knife crime theme?

GinaDreamsofRunningAway · 07/01/2025 14:39

I agree. It was pretty traumatising and it has played on my mind a bit today. What a sad and
awful end for Mason, just as he had turned his life around and had a whole new future waiting for him in Germany. When he was crying that he didn’t want to die, I was sobbing!! 😭 I was hoping the hospital would be able to save him. Very hard hitting drama and it was done very well.

I wasn't being rude. Should I have added flowers to make the meaning clear?
The OP had bumped it, so i merely suggested it moved to telly adduicts where it would get more traction.

It appeared no-onc cared because it had been bumped by OP and had no responses when I posted

@wineandagoodbook I agree with you. I've been despairing of the plot lines and acting In Coronation Street for a couple of years and have missed chunks when I've been busy, and not bothered to catch up. Last night's was truly emotional and such a great performance by the Mason actor.

ExtraDisorganised · 07/01/2025 16:21

I didn't see it as I stopped watching some years ago (due to weak characters, too many episodes a week, ludicrous plotlines etc), so probably would never have clicked on a long running Corrie thread, but I do miss it and am glad to hear they are still doing some good drama, I might even start watching again one day. I don't mind a telly thread popping up in Chat.

It was so harrowing. It was still on my mind when I woke up today. I almost wish I didn't watch it.

I wish Dylan had been honest about his part in it. We will have months of that side of the story being dragged out.

NattyTurtle59 · 10/01/2025 06:11

I'm in NZ so only saw it last night. I was so sad when Mason died, I had a feeling he would but was hoping against hope. Very well acted.
