I have one. You will think it was a bad idea the first time you try it! But it's very relaxing.

Redpriestandmozart · 05/01/2025 20:32

I love the feeling bordering on pain, the slight itch and heat but I only use it occasionally as I got out of the habit. Sorry, I can't comment on the sleep part but it is relaxing.

MoiraRoseForever · 05/01/2025 21:11

What level did you get ? I can see there are three. If go for lightest and then need more it’s the expense of buying another . So should 8 go for the mid one ?

thanks

I love mine. First time I used it I fell asleep on it middle of the day. Purchased the original/medium one.

Almahart · 05/01/2025 21:27

They only had one type when I got mine. I'd go for medium and wear a thin t shirt until you get used to it. I love mine

ramonaquimby · 05/01/2025 21:28

I've got the original mat and pillow. Really like them both, use after a yoga session and sometimes after a bath. I find both v relaxing

OrigamiOwls · 05/01/2025 21:38

I got one last week. OMG the pain. I know people say you get used to it and it becomes relaxing but I'm not sure how long that is supposed to take. The first time I used it I managed a very short period and was literally crying in pain. I've managed to increase my time in it to few minutes, but it is still agony.
I've given it a week and now starting to think it's time to sack it off.
I got the level 1 - before it arrived I was worried it wasn't going to strong enough, turns out I was very, very wrong.

Almahart · 05/01/2025 21:45

@origamiowls use it on a soft surface and not on bare skin. It should be fine then

The first time I tried the floor, absolute agony. Since then I've been using it on my bed to try & make it softer, still painful. I think it's just not for me.

ShinySquirrel · 05/01/2025 21:58

Love mine. Go for the first level and buy another later on, trust me. I am still not used to the next level up and I doubt I will get there. That's even with a t-shirt.

I got mine to help with chronic shoulder muscle soreness and it's brilliant.

Try it on your feet too, but don't put your weight on them.

CouchSpud · 05/01/2025 22:00

The most painful part is getting off… rip it like a plaster!

CFOfTheHighestOrder · 05/01/2025 22:00

Yes I love mine! Personally don’t like the neck pillow, I can’t quite get it to hit the right spots, but the level 1 mat and the headband I highly recommend! Thinking of getting the eye mask and weighted blanket too

edited to add it is wayyy too intense to use it on the floor, I only use it on the bed

PlopSofa · 05/01/2025 22:01

Im considering getting a red light and infrared mat instead. Shakti looks interesting but photobiomodulation looks even more so!

TotallyTwisted · 05/01/2025 22:02

Used mine a few times and found it good, but I literally forgotten I had it until I saw this thread!

Kaleidoscopic101 · 05/01/2025 22:04

I think 20 mins is about as much as I could take. It's nice to do while listening to a guided meditation it kind of helps ground/anchor you ... But it is itchy afterwards ime

Brandyb · 05/01/2025 22:06

Love mine but keep your bum covered - once I put my bare buttocks on it and oh the agony!! Never realised they were so sensitive...

Frostyaf · 05/01/2025 22:20

I have often fallen asleep on mine

MoiraRoseForever · 05/01/2025 22:33

Thanks everyone , really helpful .

Will get one . Still not quite sure which level .

astridforty · 05/01/2025 22:39

100% recommend although clear from this thread that people have different tolerances for the pain. I’ve a level 2 and have used it from day 1 without an issue. I don’t wear anything as a barrier. I think it’s difficult to recommend a level - you’ll have to make a call based on your usual pain threshold.

Fairly sure there is a money back guarantee if you don’t like it?

I've just bought a (secondhand!) mat to try as a friend was extolling its virtues on her sleep.

I had a go on the bed wearing my PJs yesterday morning, and focused on my legs as they've been quite tight. Can't say I noticed any difference, but will persevere...

For me, it's extremely relaxing and helps relieve physical tension. You can't possibly keep hold of hidden tension when you're on the thing. Your muscles have no choice to surrender.

MoiraRoseForever · 06/01/2025 14:15

Have ordered ! Will update when arrives and I have a go !

How have you got on @MoiraRoseForever ? I've just ordered one as I've got a dodgy back so I'm hoping it may help with that.
