One thing that Brexit showed - maybe it was the entire reason behind Brexit - was that people are quite happy to stand next to - and vote with - utter scumbags if they feelz it is in their interests.
Really, the whole remain/leave debate should have been distilled into "do you think that voting for what a far-right agitator likes is going to end well".
Voting can simultaneously be a right and a privilege - in fact all rights are privileges. Just ask any Afghan woman. And as such it is (or should be) incumbent on the voter to look to their sides when they vote.
If I ever find myself voting for something Nigel Farage or Stephen Yaxley Lennon advocates for then I really really really really really really really need to work though what has gone wrong in the world, my life, and the UK to make that happen.
The only positive (if it can be called that) aspect of the social media fetish gripping (some of) the world is that it does make it very easy to show what deeply unpleasant characters these cunts are.
