Anyone can't sleep?

I'm having a night time flare up of my IBS after a stressful day at the hospital with my foster daughter. And now the IBS is making me anxious. I've got my headphones on and I'm listening to the that anxiety guy (the anxious truth) podcast and trying to focus on keeping my breathing steady and desperately praying I don't have to get up for the loo again.

Yes DH is responsible for the late shift so about to handover soon. But it's at that probably about to fall asleep stage and then you feel like a git for waking someone up to take a half asleep baby that might get disturbed rather than go down.
I might have to be that git though.

Hope your foster daughter is ok, you're starting to feel better and the podcast is helping.

@Nogodsnomasters I do but not sure I can even face making it. It's "only" a 7/10 pain, a full flare up is 10/10 so hoping it stays just about bearable 😭

Three of us up in our house. DH and adult DS are making the most of their week off by playing video games until all hours.

I’ve been in bed for 2 hours but stomach cramps are keeping me awake. Even my audiobook of Pride and Prej isn’t lulling me to sleep. That’s usually a sure thing - 6 or 7 chapters and I drift off to happy dreams.

I'm up because I had emergency surgery 5 weeks ago and two of my five wounds are infected, one won't heal properly, due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis medications. It's pretty painful. My RA is starting to flare a bit as well.

House was cold when I got up, but heating is on now. Hopefully the 60mg of codeine I've just taken will kick in.

I'm on the settee, as I don't want to wake my OH, she is looking very cosy fast asleep.

Meee. Insomnia is nothing new for me but it's truly appalling at the moment. I was awake until 4 yesterday and shattered all day so you'd think I'd have dropped off easily today but no such luck.

My anxiety is a lot right now and my wife is due to give birth in the next couple of weeks so there's a whole host of emotions bound up there too.

I've brewed a strength 5 fresh coffee. Not exactly the best thing to be having at this time, but my god it tasted good.

Just noticed the glare of a phone screen from the youngests room, so he'll be sleeping in late. I'm not policing his screen time, he's 18 and about 6 foot 1 🤣🤣🤣

Ill 10yo next to me, think we've had about half an hour sleep, just been abruptly awoken when she tried to get into my wardrobe while sleep or fever walking. Now using Mumsnet to keep awake...

I’m awake because I’m having surgery to remove my gall bladder tomorrow. Will be better off without it but last experience in hospital was not good. 😕

OP love to anxiety guy, he makes me fall straight asleep but I was going to add the calm app have sleep stories, there is one by shaun mendis that works every time. It's called "we are connected"

In fact I have no clue what happens at the end of the story.

I've been to sleep, woke up for a wee and I have indigestion so waiting for my tummy to settle after my tablet. Also my own fault as I drank wine which my body does not like in the slightest at the moment.

Yeah I just took some beta blockers. Unfortunately my heart is beating too fast with stress. They should kick in soon.

That was me last night.
Tonight the dogs are mercifully quiet but after 2 hrs sleep I’ve been wide awake.
This bug is a humdinger.

No, I'm fine being here. She has just started a new job and had a bad time of it in her last one.

She needs to be tucked up, comfortable and sleeping away. I'm close to the kitchen too, so it's not all bad. ☕️

I’m up worrying about possible cancer diagnosis. Have terrible nausea despite the anti emetics they’ve prescribed. I am emerophobic so really stressed out at the moment.

It'll be a great relief once it's removed.
I had mine out 9 years ago and dd had hers removed 2 weeks ago so I know what you've been through to get to this point.

I've barely slept tonight so far and can't blame it on young dcs. But dcat decided it was a great time to have the zoomies a while ago so was charging around the house. Of course she's now settled down and I'm wide awake.

Woke up around 2am when OH came to bed and couldn't get back to sleep again. Gave up and got up an hour ago and just going to go into work early so I can early and nap.

Joining the wide awake club. DS2(almost 3) still co-sleeping(single mum so it works for us) has decided he wants boob all-night-long. So I’m lay here, tit out, waiting for him to settle enough so I can try and slither away. I’ve done this 4 times already, but he keeps shimmying back over. It’s bloody freezing, too

👋🏻 right there with you. Had a glass of wine last night with nice toast dinner. Now on toilet, been thinking intolerant to alcohol for awhile - guess I have my answer 😬.

I'm wide awake worrying about how I'll pay my rent this week. Some unforeseen payments had to be made over Christmas and now I'm about £500 short.

Just laying here, goggling what I can sell to tide me over until payday, but it's looking grim.

Our mother is end of life but I'm in too much pain to deal with it. I have to go back into hospital so can't give as much support to sibling as I'd like to. I do have brilliant drugs though they slow me right down.

Worked for someone seriously high up in global insurance years ago - first thing he did when got back from holiday was dele the everything. 'If it's important they'll email again' mind blown!!!

So, wondering whether to start a film, do some admin, or turn on a podcast and try to drift off to sleep again. So lucky I’m not in work tomorrow.

Me too. Not for lack of trying. I'm so FED UP with not sleeping !!
