Talking to DH about all the celebs we’ve seen out of context and there’s so many that thinking it’s not that novel. eg seen Phil Tuffnel, but that was at Lords so doesn’t count. Seen loads of celebs as part of work (stood next to Stephen Fry in the wings for example) so that doesn’t count either.

But out of their usual context:

Frankie and Wayne Bridge at the trampoline park with their kids

Alan Rickman - our school sat behind him in the audience of a theatre show, yes we were HP fan-age, no we weren’t subtle, sure it was probably 🙄 for him 😄

Sat next to the guy who plays Jason in Gavin & Stacey at the theatre

Also sat next to Dom Joly at the theatre but didn’t recognise him (who is he?!) DH did though

James Cordon walking along the road

Share yours if you have nothing better to do on Xmas eve 😁

Had Patsy Palmer ask me where the 'air clips were when I worked at Superdrug

Apparently I served Anthony Head during the Buffy years but had no idea who he was, just had everyone telling me after!

Shared a hotel lift with Eva Longoria, Tony Parker and her bodyguard in Las Vegas. Didn't even notice, was just thinking to myself that I didn't dress up enough after glancing at her. My boyfriend said the bodyguard was really on edge with us being in there. Totally went over my head! Grin

Another Gavin & Stacey one. Saw Dave Coaches at a cricket match with a group of his friends. No point eavesdropping because they were speaking Welsh! He’s quite handsome in person, he’s got “presence”.

Nomdemare · 24/12/2024 21:20

Two weeks ago: Hugh Grant and wife at Burlington Arcade in Mayfair whilst I was with my 7 and 5 year old. Both children excited to see Mr Gruber/Oompah Loompah - but I’m afraid we were ignored when we politely asked ‘excuse me…’

Henrythehappypig · 24/12/2024 21:24

Gwyneth Paltrow in my local Greggs. Loves a fudge doughnut apparently.

Firebird83 · 24/12/2024 21:30

Sir Trevor McDonald at the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Hyde Park in 2004, he was sitting on a shooting stick 🤗.

KimFan · 24/12/2024 21:45

Eminem in Times Square. Also Melissa Joan Hart in Times Square. Not together, I might add.

BrightSunshineyDay · 24/12/2024 21:47

Samantha Janus on the train about a year ago. It was standing room only so I was quite close to her 😳 She got off at Milton Keynes

ThatShyRoseViper · 24/12/2024 22:00

I hate to be pedantic but isn’t seeing an actor at the theatre very much in context.

postingpastbedtime · 24/12/2024 22:04

A few years ago I saw Claudia Winkleman buying shampoo and it was not head and shoulders as she advertised

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/12/2024 22:07

Jason Priestly standing next to me at an Easter egg hunt. I didn't see him but DH did and didn't tell me. Thus depriving me of him falling madly in love with my 15 yo heart and sweeping me away from all this.

Stupid DH.

WingBingo · 24/12/2024 22:14

Not much of a celeb. I saw the mum from Yorkshire Farm, in Zara, Leeds at the weekend . She was well put together, as were her children.

Rhaidimiddim · 24/12/2024 22:15

Rolf Harris in rhe local.parks, walking his dogs. ( He also used to walk them.in thevpark where my DD did PE every Tuesday.) He used to buy sandwiches in the local M & S and shop in the local Waitrose, with his wife and a member of staff.

Met Ernie Wise in a small independent jewellers once and had a brief chat.

squashyhat · 24/12/2024 22:17

Bob Geldof on a train from Leeds to London. Greta Scacchi also on a train. Rufus Sewell in the audience at a play. Michael Williams (Judi Dench's husband) in a pub. Ben Elton in my local Co-op. Rik Mayal at Gatwick. Nigel Kennedy being obnoxious on a flight from Berlin.

Prince William on a train to Cambridge wearing a cap

Elderflower14 · 24/12/2024 22:49

I've told this story on here many times. In 1995 I went to Christies in London to watch some Lowrys being sold. After they had sold there was a change round in the audience. I was gazing round the room when the man one row in from and three seats to the left smiled at me... He was very handsome. I smiled back and realised he had two different coloured eyes. I looked again. He sniled again......IT WAS DAVID BOWIE... He was most amused when i slid down my chair in shock. I didn't dare ask for an autograph I case I bid on a painting.

GiddyRobin · 24/12/2024 23:06

Alan Rickman - in London whilst shopping. I was only young and I can't even remember which shop, but he was very kind. I was too embarrassed to ask for a photo!

Reece Shearsmith - with work at a restaurant. He was extremely kind and absolutely nothing like the grump he often gets said to be. So, so funny. Pulled out my chair for me and chatted about horror stuff with me for absolutely ages. Unfortunately for him, I have had a massive crush on him for yonks and for the first ten minutes I was a blushing, tongue tied mess. If he caught on, he didn't show it!

HarrietSchulenberg · 24/12/2024 23:12

Quite a few for me but the best one is my son's - he was delighted to bump into Ainslee Harriot on our school field. Ainslee was watching his child play a sporting match against our school and was quite lovely to my starstruck child who asked him for a selfie.

Justme2023123 · 24/12/2024 23:18

Guy Ritchie and Tom Parker Bowles in a Midlands train station one Christmas a few years back.

BabstheBounder · 24/12/2024 23:21

Terry Nutkin in Birmingham New Street station. It was being redeveloped (almost 20yrs ago now!) And we were both lost lost asked each other for directions 😂

Wildywondrous · 24/12/2024 23:25

I also saw Anthony Head but he was at Bristol zoo, also Terry Nutkins at a farmers market in Lichfield.
Roy Wood is local and I've seen him at a few places such as gigs, curry houses and once playing Laser Tag.
