What’s everyone’s Xmas eve plans?

Good morning!
move had coffee in bed and had planned to get the kids and dog out on a walk but the weather is horrific!
so going to make a picky lunch and watch Xmas films I think.
how about you?

up cooking since 6 but really wanted an early start so I don’t need to think about it later. Me and teens going for a walk and then lunch and then back here and sit on sofa and watch films, maybe church later and then dinner, Christmas Eve box, more films and bed 😊🌲

I’ve just washed floors, put a wash on and set the Christmas table (we will have to move everything when we have dinner but it makes me happy 😂) I’ve a ham on in the slow cooker and potatoes peeled for tomorrow

I have a church service now at 12 and need to get stocking fillers (just chocolate coins and selection boxes - everything is done)

other than that- we are visiting MIL and going to Christmas mass

unusually in the day that’s in in, I might do an hours job hunting as after 25 years SEN teaching / I think I am done and my New Year’s resolution is to have an easier less stressful life

My DS and DIL are coming this evening to stay for a few days and I'm very excited.

Just got the bed to change and pets to sort and then I'm good to go! Went to the shop to pick up my 'food to go'. Bit of a problem fitting it all in the fridge though.

Going for long walk with many playgrounds. Last thing I feel like but the overexcited child needs to work off some energy!
Not long til it's all over... 🤞

I'm wrapping presents and watching TV. Been to M&S - not too busy. Need to prep the veg and trifle. Lay the table and sort the stockings and some last minute Santa wrapping.

WFH until lunchtime.
Kid are preoccupied with their Christmas Eve boxes and having chocolate for breakfast.

Later we will venture out to grab some last minute essentials like Buck’s Fizz, batteries and something to bring for Christmas pudding tomorrow 😂

Then we’ll order Chinese for dinner.
After dinner the kids put their sacks out ready for the big man.
We all bath/shower and put on our cosiest pyjamas, stick a Christmas film on, after the film we’ll pop a carrot, cookie and a glass of baileys out for FC.. and then all go off to bed for an early night ready for Santa to come.

then Santa will get up when the kids are fast sleep, build the bikes, out electric motorbike on charge, fill the sacks and the stockings.. eat the cookie and drink the baileys. Rudolf will naw roughly on the carrot and leave some chewed up mess.. then before he leaves he sprinkles a regretful amount of glitter as he leaves.

then Santa goes to bed and hopes to fucking god they sleep past 6am.. unlikely.

I am currently listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas album (recommended!)

I've just washed through breakfast dishes and am currently cleaning the dishwasher (or, rather, it's cleaning itself)

Dh has had to pop out for the items missing from our Xmas grocery delivery, which is annoying

Both dc (older) are awake but not yet moving :)

We have a very chill Xmas eve here...Xmas day and Boxing day we host, so we sit around, eat and watch Xmas tv and films :)

We always watch carols from kings on bbc at around 6pm

There is a church service locally at 8 pm, but the weather is pretty foul here, so we may not make the journey

I will shortly be playing fridge tetris to get all the food in!

My favourite day! So far everyone is showered and dressed and laundry going. There is a Christmas film on in living room and smallest dc and oldest dc are tracking Santa. Middle dc is gaming..
We are going to finish baking cookies this morning for Santa later and then mostly a chill day.

I have just finished packing. Driving to family this afternoon. I am very tired and just need a rest after noro bug/ busy work period/dealing with elderly parents issues for the last month. But DS is so excited to see his cousins it will be lovely when we arrive. I think we are going to carol service later so that will get me in the mood.

Home a bit early from work, pack up the car ready for tomorrow, early bath and PJs, tasty tea and a movie. Bliss.

I was going to take the kids to softplay or a NT property but they aren't feeling it so we went for a walk first thing, had the Tesco shopping delivered and they want to stay in and do some Christmas crafts. I'm working a night tonight so suits me to have a lazy day. It's just us for Christmas and then we are seeing my mum on boxing day and that's it for our Christmas

When DS1 and his gf get back from visiting his Nana we will be having lunch then going go karting along with DS2. Then we will do more visiting while the gf goes to work. Then Indian takeaway and Mario Kart until bed time

We do our main Christmas meal this evening, so a bit of relaxing this morning then DH will come home and start the cooking. We have no visitors this year so it's just me, DH and DS. Actually very relaxing.

Put chicken in oven for tomorrow. Put a load in washer. Chilling all day then it's new PJs, a takeaway and a film later 🙂

Second coffee of the day. Pj day. Got the films sorted for later. Designed menus for next three days. Wagyu defrosting on the side. Third and final food shop arrives at 12 then shower and do veg prep for tomorrow. Dinner is crispy aromatic duck. Cheese board and pudding if needed. Ghost movies with Bailey's and a mince pie. Bliss

Pottering around, tidying and getting ready. DC is having a haircut, lunch when he comes back then we are off to a crib service at the church. Will order in tonight, undecided on Chinese or an Italian!

Working from home. Will potter about doing little jobs during tea breaks. Leaving DH to do any last minute jobs, veg prep etc

Went out to Tescos around 7am and bought final groceries. Cleaned bathroom, downstairs toilet, generally tidied and just need to finish off hoovering. Need to pop around to old neighbours with their gifts and card. We were going to play games this afternoon, but car had to go into garage so one of us (I'm thinking DH as I've done the shopping and cleaning) will have to get two buses to collect. I'll have a shower then. Hopefully he'll be home by 4pm, so maybe play a game then. Have luxury ready meals for tonight and a glass of wine or two.

Last minute present wrapping, then making mince pies and sausage rolls. This afternoon OH and I are off out for a festive afternoon tea. Likely to be chill evening watching TV later 🙂

Just done a big shop this morning, brined the turkey and just stopped for breakfast while wrapping presents. Going for a big walk this afternoon, then tidy house, play outsmarted with the kids, will make a pavlova tonight and maybe, but not set on, watching a movie. Put stockings together. And then done. I have never left the basics this late before 😬

Had a bit of a lie-in after two nights of poor sleep in a row.

Wrote a complaint letter to Bensons for Beds (a whole story!) and emailed that off.

Now just waiting for my mum to arrive shortly! She's staying until the 27th. She should be here any time now, so I'm typing and watching out for her.

Having one of our favourites, bacon, egg and chips for lunch. Then just slobbing.

Oh, and I do need to drop one Christmas card round to the neighbours opposite at some point.

Just got up and had a bacon roll. Turkey defrosting. Veggies to prep. Visit elderly neighbours with a small gift. Clean bathroom. And that's it.

Fizz with Carols from King's later and tea will be buffet stuff from fridge.

All of my plans have flown out of the window. I'm sat in bed eating a porridge and about to take some steroids as I've managed to pick up a god awful chest infection.

It's painful and I'm seriously grumpy, my DH and 2 x DS are having to pick up everything as I'm struggling to even walk around without feeling dizzy and wheezy.

Bah humbug

No clue how I'll feel tomorrow but I'm staying away and in bed today, my DH is flapping about, the house needs a bloody good clean and there is loads to do, but I'm not sure he quite realises what's needed and I just don't have the energy to even help.
