There are no photos of it from the front that I can see?

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that I don't like that one.

I will enter (I have a monthly subscription) but if I win it will definitely be sold.

Neither do I. They do have some lovely properties though.

CinnamonClovesBrownVelvet · 19/12/2024 17:29

It's absolutely stunning

Arlanymor · 19/12/2024 17:39

Sorry, sorry, but I am going to have to win this one. It’s for BHF and I have a heart condition, so y’know it’s only fair. Plus it’s the closest house to where I actually live that they have featured. I would live in the annexe and run it as a paid-for creative retreat (with arts council support if I could get it!) and do the gardening myself. Then one week every month I would keep it just for me and run around with a lantern in a nightgown.

Wouldn’t live on the banks of the river Avon in Batheaston - I live locally and this area has just suffered severe flooding.

flood risk aside, it’s a beautiful house!

The flooding is my main concern with the house. Apart from that, it’s gorgeous.

Sandwichgen · 10/01/2025 17:24

The Mail is running an article slating the house today - but behind a paywall / adwall apart from the title, grrr

Just as well I didn't win it then - when I saw the Omaze email pop into my inbox for a moment I dared to dream... (even though it said 'meet the winners' and they hadn't been in touch with me!)

TheBunyip · 10/01/2025 18:36

wait what? has someone won it? it was meant to be me, i got a ticket for christmas. it was the winning ticket.

Sandwichgen · 10/01/2025 19:14

That was the Lake District house they just drew, not the Bath one

Oh, so Bath is still up for grabs - awesome! Although the LD one was lovely too, I liked the jetty and the writing cabin next to the fire pit down at the lakeside.

Sandwichgen · 10/01/2025 20:02

I liked it, but like the Bath one better ….

lakesandplains · 10/01/2025 21:48

It really tickles all of my fantasy lifestyle daydreams - can imagine a pair of happy cats in the antique greenhouse, trotting about the garden.

You've got to hand it to them it's a great idea as most of us day dream about buying such a house, especially in the gloomy indoor months.

Sandwichgen · 12/01/2025 16:49

I can’t see it flooding - not the house anyway. The bottom of the garden might, which is presumably why they keep it plain and simple, just lawn at the bottom.

Tje Rightmove listing has street view and while the road might be a busy one, there is a garden and a wall between it and the house.

I might buy another ticket …

KnickerlessParsons · 12/01/2025 19:05

Bit close to the river for my liking. I bet that garden floods.

DiscoHippo · 14/01/2025 19:58

Perhaps a slightly unnecessary concern for my ten quid entry, but I can't see any parking - nope, found it
