Wot no treeslets?

Like to get a tub of Christmasy Treeslets at this time of year (cheeslets by Jacobs in cunning Christmas disguise) and also a tub of cheese footballs (so artificial and disgusting but weirdly morish) and can't find them in physical supermarkets anywhere. Dh has just gone on a hunt and can only find other snacks. What's going on??? Is there some sort of national shortage? Why isn't it all over the news??

We found some at extortionate price on Amazon and Amazon Morrisons grocery (although the latter more reasonably priced)

Saw them both in sainsburys yesterday and tesco today where i live.

Saw cheese footballs in home bargains if you have one near you.

I got mine a few weeks ago from Morrisons. They were also available on Tesco home delivery, so must have been in a physical store. It is, of course, completely possible that there is a national shortage due to the number of tubs I have in my Christmas cupboard 🎅🏻

I got some today in Home Bargains, ironically because I can’t find Mini Cheddars anywhere this year.

ladymalfoy45 · 17/12/2024 21:19

Our local Coop have loads.

Runskiyoga · 17/12/2024 21:20

My Tesco had them

Mysa74 · 17/12/2024 21:21

No trees let's? That's awful, it's not Christmas without those (and the party rings) on the buffet table... I've deliberately avoided the aisle in the supermarket as if I buy too soon the ravenous hordes descend and it's all gone 5 minutes after unloading the bags... I'll keep an eye out xx

Mysa74 · 17/12/2024 21:24

Asda and Iceland are showing online at £2 for a 280g tub and at Sainsbury's £2.50...
Amazon want crazy money!

NImumconfused · 17/12/2024 21:35

Loads of them in our local Tesco's!

Duckcake · 17/12/2024 21:35

Both in sainsburys near me

RaininSummer · 17/12/2024 21:36

I got some tree things in home bargains but it was a few weeks back.

BluebellCrocus · 17/12/2024 21:36

Tesco are doing tree shaped tortilla chips in red, yellow and green this year. They're nice

tobee · 17/12/2024 21:38

Ooh Home Bargains - good shout! Thanks for these replies.

I did get a tub of mini cheddars so that's a start!

While I'm here, I'll do my annual shout out for satsumas. There were quite a reasonable amount that I spotted last year, but it's back to easy peelers again for 2024 - boo!

Cheese footballs are in food warehouse (Iceland) home bargains and b&m. I only know because dh is obsessed (I can’t stand them!) so I go hunting for them every year! Not sure about treeslets I’m afraid as we’re all not keen.

tobee · 17/12/2024 21:38

I'm pleased anyway that others are finding them!

Cheese footballs are a massive Christmas nostalgia hit from my 1970s childhood.

Keep looking, I love a mission to find stuff and almost get disappointed when my mission is complete!!

I got a tub in iceland.

Sunshineandrainbow · 17/12/2024 21:46

Sometimes placed in random areas /displays of shops.

BluebellCrocus · 17/12/2024 22:27

Have you checked the Tesco app to see if they're in stock in your local store? I can see they are in mine (according to the app) Other stores might have similar apps.

It says out of stock. The search continues.

B&M bargains stock both. I can tell you that in our store they are on the top shelf above the crisps and another top shelf above the Christmas chocolate Aisle. Plenty of stock of both
