Thats it really it i hate wrapping.

Loose the pen down the side of the sofa. Loose the end of the tape , Loose the scissors. Forget who's i just wrapped before it's labeled. Question if I have been fair . Door bell rings. Dogs jump all over the place. Everything gos flying. Loose everything all over again.

I cut up old Christmas cards for gift tags.

Weighted tape dispenser is a game changer. I’m rubbish at wrapping and everyone knows it. As long as the present is covered, I don’t care how much Sellotape I use and my folds are always uneven. Absolutely can’t be arsed with ribbons, bows etc. They’re lucky just to get a present in my view! 😄

Christmas music on, set your stall out - scissors, pen, bag for bits of rubbish, and then pour a large gin/sherry/wine.

I love wrapping! At work I do the wrapping for presents we give, because I love it so much.

I sit at the kitchen table to do it, no standing over the ironing board here - I need a big surface to set everything out on. I don't have a tape dispenser, but I'd like one of those wrist ones - I thought I had one, it might be at the bottom of my box of bows and ribbons.

To make it easier for yourself OP use gift bags for adults (and reuse them), and sticky labels for gift tags (if you have Amazon Prime you can get some by tomorrow).

When I was married, my now exH had a huge family, and I used to wrap about 100 presents each Christmas (including my children's presents and stocking fillers). I think I've just had a lot of practice!

I love it! Presents get wrapped in whatever paper there is, then I write the name of recipient in gold/silver marker straight on the present. Old school heavy duty sellotape dispenser is a must.

I'll come and wrap all your presents, if you'll come and put away/hang all my clothes. I can do DS' , but I bloody hate doing mine, and it ends up, folded, on the chairdrobe until there's about 3 loads worth and I have to do it or there'll be a clothes landslide.

😅 we don't even have wardrobes for this reason. We just put into drawers

I brought wrapping gift bags they're great.

BibbityBobbityToo · 16/12/2024 00:58

I can recommend the 'RAPESCO' branded sellotape dispenser from Amazon, around £7 (weird brand name though). Mine arrived yesterday and it's a total game changer.

Well, I finished work Friday and shopped til I dropped Saturday. Armed with wheeliebag. Another wheeliebag day today and then wrapping...I am pretty much done shopping. Only shop down the road tomorrow will be entered for bits. Some more wrapping tomorrow...
It has been knife edge stuff!
Due to not wanting to go near crowds tomorrow will just recycle Christmas jumpers for the days themselves. Not glamorous but hey ho!
Have slight backache from wheeliebag weight and bending over wrapping.

If you don't want to wrap your presents up, you can put them in gift bags.

This has been pointed out several times yet the OP isn't taking it on board. We just reuse the gift bags we have. I don't think I have bought one for years.

I got ones that tie this year. So easy and will pop them in the attic for reuse.

Sounds like a great idea. I haven't see one's you can tie. Where would I find them?

Amazon if you search wrapping bags there's loads of options including cute fabric ones!

treacledan71 · 24/12/2024 07:52

I use single sheets. Harder to get since Wilkinsons went. Got it off ebay. So much easier. Older teen now though so less to wrap. Other people I get for is money with a tube of sweets. Do get one big roll for bigger presents. Stopped buying for adults in our family now.

mitogoshigg · 24/12/2024 07:56

I hate wrapping too, it's Christmas Eve and as per normal nothing is wrapped. The plan is to bribe myself with a pastry from the expensive bakers to make myself do it (need to collect parcel from amazon locker which is next to aforementioned bakery) and as the alternative to wrapping is working (wfh today) I might knuckle down

DizzyDandilion · 24/12/2024 11:19

Thing is with gift bags, do you sneak your bags back when present been opened?
I have some gift bags but from presents we have been given....

I4gotmyname · 24/12/2024 11:21

We don't sneak them back. We keep them.

@I4gotmyname we are all adults. DD is 24 and is very environmentally switched on, and the thought of wasting all that paper goes very much against her (and our) principles.
