Nothing's screaming "EAT ME!!" from the freezer 🤔

Pulled gammon (been in the slow cooker all day ) , mash , peas and homemade parsley sauce . Proper comfort food which is much needed today with this awful weather .

On my own tonight for a change, so it was king prawn chow mein from the local Chinese takeaway. It was delish, and I wish I could afford to do it every Friday!

Banana porridge. I so CBA😂

Chippy tea...Friday after all! Fish, chips, gravy, mushies & tartar sauce 😋 cue lounging on the sofa afterwards in a food coma...

I made a chicken and lentil stew. I put a lot of garlic in it and it was very nice if I say so myself!

SilverBlueRabbit · 06/12/2024 19:16

We had roast chicken with a paprika and garlic marinade; roast potatos; honey sesame carrots; roasted butternut squash with tarragon; leeks in cheese sauce; minted peas; courgettes with butter and lemon; onions stuffed with oregano and sausage meat and prosecco.

(I had a day off. I also had a nap).

Can't be bothered to cook, so it's fennel flavoured salami sandwich and a few olives, with chocolate raisins for pudding.

OnTheSafeSide · 06/12/2024 19:19

On my own - tagliatelle, drizzled with good dose of olive oil, chopped up fresh (room temp) beef tomato, lots of salt, crushed garlic clove and a new addition - some pickled onions - really nice! Topped with grated cheddar cheese.

Roasted Mediterranean veg pasta bake

AtleastitsnotMonday · 06/12/2024 19:21

I'm having a tray bake of cauliflower, courgettes, peppers and chicken tossed in a marinade made with black garlic paste. I've got some red onions pickling to sprinkle over the top.

Inextremis · 06/12/2024 19:26

Chicken adobo with rice (pic attached). I was dubious about the recipe - chicken marinated in vinegar and soy sauce didn't sound great - but went with it, and it's bloody lovely! Eating it now :)

Smoked haddock chowder and sourdough toast.

Zippidydoodah · 06/12/2024 19:30

Wispa gold and crisps 😂

Topsy44 · 06/12/2024 19:44

Peanut butter on toast, cheese and onion crisps followed by a satsuma!

TheLadyIsAVamp · 06/12/2024 21:13

@Inextremis I was the same the first time I tried Adobo. So much more delicious than it sounds!

SereneCapybara · 06/12/2024 21:54

Cod baked in paper with herbs and lemon, steamed broccoli, baby broad beans and new potatoes. And a glass of wine. Getting over flu and really craving very healthy, plain food - nothing fatty or heavy on sauce.

FutureFry · 06/12/2024 21:57

Chicken and seafood paella, thanks to DH

RitaN · 06/12/2024 22:05

Roast chicken and caprese salad plus some mashed raspberries and scrambled egg that my 8month old didn’t finish 😂

SilverBlueRabbit · 09/12/2024 16:44

I am going easy today

Dcs are having southern fried chicken fillets with a baked potato and cheese, frozen sweetcorn, frozen carrots and peas.

I am cooking up beef meatballs in a super spicy tomato sauce (gotta love Dolmios and a heavy hand with the chilli flakes) with rice, sour cream and guacamole.

None of it is from scratch, all comes out of a packet or a chiller cabinet or a jar. I'm not even making the red wine from scratch. I seriously cannot wait because today has been a total arse of a day.
