I have a Christmas "shopping list". On the list is "something geeky/a gadget".

TikTok has presented me with loads of "Amazon finds" over the months but now I need inspo, I can't find anything!

Something for about £10/£15.

What geek gadget have you got that's actually really good?! 🙏🏼

You hold the cork and twist the bottle. I usually put a tea towel over the cork so it doesn't hit the ceiling but I've never not been able to open a bottle of fizz this way.

I absolutely know how to open a bottle of Champagne! (or Cava or Prosecco). But there are some bottles we've had where even my DH couldn't open them.

Sorry @BIWI - I genuinely didn't mean to imply that you didn't know how to open a bottle of bubbles. Apologies if my post came across as though I did.

No, I've got a cheap one from Temu. It works but it's a bit moody! The one I linked has OK reviews and was on offer - it's definitely higher spec than mine, it has different levels and a timer.

It is nice to be able to keep your drink warm and to reheat it without getting up!

JulesJules · 05/12/2024 19:22

It's not that exciting or quirky, but I think one of the best kitchen gadgets you can get is a microplane

I remember Christmas drinks at a friend's house many years ago when DH took out the Swiss card he'd received that morning. Suddenly he was surrounded by men of all ages wanting a look, they seemed very impressed!

😂Top tier Christmas gadget. The full one was something I bought for my other half, and every time my dad visited he ended up fidgeting with it, so next Christmas he got one, then my uncle found out and he got one next. Now half the family have them and they’re all so well used. I’ve now got a Swiss card in my bag and it’s dead useful!

Does he cook?
We have found the garlic rocker a huge improvement on the garlic press or faffing about with a pinch of salt or a knife. We got ours from a fancy cookery shop for £££ but saw them in BandM recently. I bought them for all the DC. So good!

We have one. It’s good but can remove too much strawberry if that makes sense.

PerditaLaChien · 06/12/2024 06:24

Does he know your budget is £10-15 when he's asked for a gadget?
