Someone has been filling my bins (all of them) with bags of dog shit, they are putting it in little clear bags with paw prints on them but they are not tying them so it's going everywhere in my bins. To say they smell is an understatment and I noticed maggots everywhere.

I didn't mind too much to start off with but after going out the other day and getting it all over my hands because it had been smeared on the handles of my bin is the last straw for me.

I set up a camera and have managed to get the guy doing it, he lives down the street.

The more I think about it the more it's pissing me off because he has to walk past his own bins, down his driveway, across the road, open my gate, walk down my driveway then open my bin shed to use my bins, Seems he's going to a bit of effort to do it twice a day when he could easily just put them in his own!

Stuff like this wouldn't usually bother me, but It has really started to smell (bins are in a bin shed right next to my front door) and there were maggots all through summer. i don't have a dog so shouldn't really have to be dealing with this. People coming to my flat are telling me they can smell it when they are knocking on my door, and a few people have mentioned the maggots.

Last night I took all my bins and put them all in my back garden, To get in there you have to go through a locked side gate. Went out this morning and theres more so he's still doing it only now he's entering my back garden to do it.

I put a note on my bin lid to say I have him on camera and to please stop doing it because it smells and if it happened again I would be bagging it all up and leaving it on his doorstep.. He then did it again.

Should I leave them on his doorstep? or is there a better way to stop this?

i don't live in the best area and when i got bin locks my bins then got stolen (I suppose people thought it they can no longer use my bins then neither could I!) and I can't afford to keep buying new bins.

What an arsehole!!

Get on of those locks for your bin

helpfulperson · 02/12/2024 09:11

Get a bin lock. Annoying that you have to but they are under a tenner on amazon for one that just straps down the lid and around twenty for one you put a padlock on. Obviously you have to remember to unlock on bin day.

FreshLaundry · 02/12/2024 09:13

What a shameless arsehole!! Unbelievable! Who does this?!

PinkFrogss · 02/12/2024 09:14

Do you feel up the loudly confronting him in front of others? Maybe it will embarrass him out of doing it.

Otherwise if you’re putting your bins in the back garden can you secure your back garden with a lock? If he breaks in through that report to the police.

What a horrible man.

PrincessofWells · 02/12/2024 09:15

I caught a neighbour dumping garden debris. I got my wheelbarrow and dumped it all back in the middle of his driveway, then knocked on the door and told him not to do it again.

I'd just bag it up and throw on his doorstep making sure some bags split in the process. Then I'd confess what I've done to the police and leave it to the police to have a word to prevent escalation. Tbh it sounds like harassment.

Marsaala · 02/12/2024 09:16

I don't know how you have managed to put up with this for so long. It's completely unacceptable. Perhaps you need to get the council involved. It is very anti social behaviour.

Hobbes8 · 02/12/2024 09:18

He’s breaking into your garden and deliberately smearing dog shit over your bin handles. Call the police. Do you have any idea why? Are you perhaps a different race?

NOTANUM · 02/12/2024 09:19

Seriously if he’s entering your locked garden to do this I would be raising a report of anti social behaviour with 101 or online. It’s just not on and he knows it!

RedVelvetIcing · 02/12/2024 09:20

I would have splattered the bags off his windows if he ignored me.

ManhattanPopcorn · 02/12/2024 09:20

He's entering your property through your front gate and then through (or over) a locked side gate to access the rear of your property. I'd contact the police. He's trespassing. He also seems to have a vendetta against you. It's not like he just happens to be walking past your bin. He's going to great lengths to use your bin over anyone else's and doesn't mind breaking into your property.

2024riot · 02/12/2024 09:22

I would call the police and say you find his behaviour to be causing you alarm and distress

HeadinSand81 · 02/12/2024 09:23

I would wonder OP whether he's getting some weird fucked up kick out of this, I'd be going straight to the police and getting bin locks.

MyNewNewlife · 02/12/2024 09:24

Report this anti social behaviour to the police and the council

Spidey66 · 02/12/2024 09:24

The occasional tied bag by a passer by would be ok-better in my bin than on the pavement. But this so calculated and deliberate.

What an arsehole!!

She tried a bin lock.

HothouseFlower · 02/12/2024 09:25

It's trespass and you have him on camera. Speak to the police NOW.

pimplebum · 02/12/2024 09:26

It’s personal now he is going to such lengths to do it to your bin and walking past his own

I assumed your bin was at the end of a dog walk path

you know who it is speak to him

FuckItItsFine · 02/12/2024 09:27

How did he get through the locked gate?

GodspeedJune · 02/12/2024 09:28

He’s doing this deliberately to harass you. I think you should speak to the police about it.

HothouseFlower · 02/12/2024 09:28

FuckItItsFine · 02/12/2024 09:27

How did he get through the locked gate?

Was just about to ask the same. Did he climb over? Why didn't a locked gate keep him out?

Onthesideofthespiders · 02/12/2024 09:28

It’s reaching targeted harassment now. Report it to the police; most police forces have an online form for non emergencies.

Jostuki · 02/12/2024 09:29

Police.

Share video on local Facebook group page.

If you know he has a wife, knock when you see him go out and show her the video and the fact you've informed the police that he is targeting a lone woman.

allthemiddlechildrenoftheworld · 02/12/2024 09:31

@blydewa this is actually classed as flytipping!!! he is committing an offence. inform the environmental health and the cleansing department. apart from anything else, I dont think people are meant to use domestic bins for dog poo!!

doodleschnoodle · 02/12/2024 09:35

I agree with police. It's gone beyond someone being a bit of a knob to someone who is going out of their way to harass you. Dirty fucker.

Gingercatlover · 02/12/2024 09:38
