Oh dear God! I need a stiff drink after that. Blooming auto correct. 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks so much. Best of luck everyone with the draw!

@Ekal For the soldier, list the occupations...there are four...you're almost there!

AutumnalLeaves38 · 14/11/2024 20:22

@Ekal Also think of a rhyming game you play with cherry stones.

Workshop: writing women" one I think I got it by googling words

the corporal with the smiling hat, mirror (or magnifying glass), saucepan and spool of wool (cotton reel?) with needle (darning needle?) several different professions - which one would will you be (or marry)

barbershop quartet forget about that aspect. It's about a type of ice cream (rubbish clue)

6! The box is bothering me too, along with the cowgirls

What kind of music do you associate with cowgirls? They're standing in front of books on this kind of music.

I agree it's a rubbish clue. I stared at them for ages before I noticed the colours of their waistcoats. Only three to go now - I'll try googling those words. I also got quite a few by consulting Booker prize shortlists over the last few years and big bookshop chain beststeller lists (that's how I got the cookbook table with the yellow stuff dripping down).

Help stuck on Hidden Books, the Ghost and Phil Collins one...

pinkpixie83 · 14/11/2024 20:43

Last one for me is the ghost, got me completely stuck

Christiemoo · 14/11/2024 20:43

Phil Collins one ?

AutumnalLeaves38 · 14/11/2024 20:45

Any clues, please, for the children's book? "Giraffe & Flamingo" by Curtis Sittenfeld definitely for adults!

AutumnalLeaves38 · 14/11/2024 20:48

Scrub that, it's another type of bird! 😳

Christiemoo · 14/11/2024 20:49

It's a pelican.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 14/11/2024 20:51

Thanks. Yes, I got it once I realised my ornithological skills were way off.

Christiemoo · 14/11/2024 20:59

Allnewtometoo · 14/11/2024 11:14

Anyone got the country girls?

You're not asking for the answer, are you? Because if so, you've just written it.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/11/2024 21:06

@Christiemoo

I think, it was womens prize nominee this year..

emsmum79 · 14/11/2024 21:07

I am absolutely stumped with the music and comedy ones...

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/11/2024 21:10

@emsmum79

Music : it's the genre they belong to as artists
Comedy Synonym for Comic Tale

RockaLock · 14/11/2024 21:13

I was absolutely convinced that the parcel was going to be a groan-worthy The Box of Delights Grin

On the whole this one seemed easier this year, I thought? Or maybe I've just got better at googling random things that might be in book titles!

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 14/11/2024 21:17

@emsmum79
Music : It's a one word answer and you've got the word it's just.....?
Comedy I've got a ..... ..... for you
