24 hours symptom free

Pushmepullyou · 09/11/2024 17:19

No, I wouldn’t. Am emetophobic though

Holymotherforkingshirtballs · 09/11/2024 17:19

I'd go by the 48 hour rule.

FionnulaTheCooler · 09/11/2024 17:20

No, I'd give it a miss for this weekend.

OfDragonsDeep · 09/11/2024 17:20

Next weekend 😂

WinterMorn · 09/11/2024 17:20

Didn’t a very similar post to this appear yesterday morning?

BellissimoGecko · 09/11/2024 17:20

48 hours symptom free for me.

But are you sure it was norovirus or just a sick bug?

angelopal · 09/11/2024 17:20

No. Would wait until at least tomorrow. It is really easy to catch and after having it before would not go near anyone that might have it.

What’s the difference?

At least a week! And I’d make sure that he had cleaned all the surfaces in his house.
Proper norovirus is hell on earth. I am traumatised by my experience of it.

kiwiane · 09/11/2024 17:31

I’d leave it for this weekend - it’s not worth the risk - I’m sure if he’s a keeper he’ll understand.

GG1986 · 09/11/2024 17:32

I'd see him on Sunday instead. Go by the 48 hour rule.

BellissimoGecko · 09/11/2024 17:35

Not all sick bugs are caused by norovirus - there are also adenovirus and rotavirus. Noro tends to be worse: more violent/sudden, more contagious, etc.

Next weekend to be absolutely sure but tomorrow if essential and only if kitchen, bathroom, switches and door handles cleaned properly .

TomatoSandwiches · 09/11/2024 17:38

I'd see him Christmas eve if I was feeling generous 😇

SaveMeFromMyBoobs · 09/11/2024 17:39

Last time I had it my partner was holding my hair while I was vomiting! He didn't catch it. Stayed until I was better. Cleaned everything - doors, handles, bathroom etc.

gamerchick · 09/11/2024 17:40

Nope.

I'm.sure ive read this already.

Edenmum2 · 09/11/2024 17:47

No, my daughter caught it off me 3 days after symptoms. It's my worst nightmare though so I'd probably just leave it a week.

MissRachelismycoparent · 09/11/2024 17:54

I'd leave it a week

Sick bugs are all contagious and unless you have tests for the cause you should isolate for 48 hours regardless.

JustinThyme · 09/11/2024 17:57

I wouldn’t see him this weekend. It’s just not worth it.

user1471538283 · 09/11/2024 17:59

Oh no don't! I've only had norovirus once and I was so sick I couldn't think but fortunately no one caught it. When I had gastroenteritis it spread through the house like wildfire and we stopped everyone coming round and I stayed out of the office until 48 hours after we were well. You really don't want either.

GreenSmithing · 09/11/2024 18:02

If it's norovirus then no. It's super-infectious and both times I've caught it, the infected party has been clear more than 48 hrs. It was really bad too. As in sleeping on the bathroom floor for a couple of nights. Wouldn't risk it.
