BourbonsAreOverated · 08/11/2024 20:02

Wasn’t it watched my millions

leftfootinletfootout · 08/11/2024 20:02

Everyone watched it (well at my school anyway !).

Same with mine. We all rushed home. I might even have recorded it to watch again

leftfootinletfootout · 08/11/2024 20:06

Still know all the words to 'suddenly'

It's very dated now , but I liked Neighbours. Made Kylie and Jason household names !
My favorite character was Joe Mangle and the dog bouncer

I believe more people watched it in the UK than lived in Oz at the time!

TheFormidableMrsC · 08/11/2024 20:14

I remember watching this with my now late mum and us sobbing 🤣🙈

leftfootinletfootout · 08/11/2024 20:16

Followed by Especially For You. I had a massive Jason poster

Thought this was a baby name thread for a mo 🤣

Justleaveitblankthen · 08/11/2024 20:30

I was a student, so set my alarm clock for this so I could have my breakfast whilst watching ⏰😂
Or was that the next day repeat? 🤔

Printedword · 08/11/2024 20:40

When brides looked really classy. No low backs or fronts on dresses needed to look attractive

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2024 20:41

I Didn't like Charlene's wedding dress much , but it was ' of it's time ' and she had a cracking figure.
They did look genuinely happy !

I did too, I was going to say marginally better than Tristan and Isolde, which the used in Rumpole of the Bailey for twins.

Reallybadidea · 08/11/2024 20:42

LOVED Charlene and Scott's wedding! I wanted to have 'Suddenly' playing when I walked down the aisle but DH put his foot down Angry

I love it. Mine wasn’t similar as it was a summer wedding, although I did try on a few long sleeved dresses. The bridesmaids were similar style of dress

Doggymummar · 08/11/2024 20:47

Omg balling my eyes out

leftfootinletfootout · 08/11/2024 20:47

The fact that they were a real couple at the time too !

I remember watching this in university halls. One of my friends had a TV in his room, we crowded in and watched!

KohlaParasaurus · 08/11/2024 20:56

I missed it. I was a junior hospital doctor and everyone who had time would pile into the doctors' mess every lunchtime to watch Neighbours. On the wedding day I was on call and barely had time to go for a wee, let along watch television.

sandrapinchedmysandwich · 08/11/2024 21:02

I lived for Neighbours back in the day. 5.35pm was sacred. It's sad that so many of the original cast are no longer with us now.

I had a huge crush on Jason Donovan and weirdly also on Stefan Dennis.

the80sweregreat · 08/11/2024 21:05

I used to get home from work around 5 pm and eat my dinner in front of the tv for the 5.35 Neighbours edition.
Happy days ( and a mum who would cook the tea for me )
Didn't realize how good life was back then !

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 08/11/2024 21:06

I remember watching a documentary about the whole relationship years ago and they said there had been a long discussion about should S&C live together or even sleep together before they got married. They decided against it.

Redglitter · 08/11/2024 21:08

I remember we were allowed to take a TV into work & all take our lunch at the same time to watch it

Swanlake98 · 08/11/2024 21:09

I was doing my nurse training and remember the whole ward stopping to watch this episode. Different days
