We're off to wander Ikea - what do we need? (With conditions...)

We're off for a wander of Ikea, using the train & tram to get there.

My only definite purchase is wrapping paper, and a stop off for food 😋

What else do I need?

Anything I buy must fit in either a standard tote, or one of the bigger bags for life like they have behind the tills in Poundland...and not be too heavy because I want to stop off at Meadowhall on the way back to pick up a Christmas present.

The washing up brushes with the suction pad on the end. I stick mine in the sink so you can’t even see it but it’s so useful.

Sadly the days of the ones with the top shaped like a dogs head are long gone 😢

MontevideoTrip · 30/10/2024 10:44

Sandwich bags! They’re really good quality.

dumpling123 · 30/10/2024 10:45

A bag of Daim bars 😍

NoCarbsForMe · 30/10/2024 10:52

Freezer clips

Needmorelego · 30/10/2024 10:56

I want to go to get some Christmas tree decorations that I think is adorable and has matching paper.

Such a shame you can't go by car 😂😂😂
(I stole this picture of the internet. I do not have 6 Blahaj's)

Paper napkins are often funky and cheap

TheSpottedZebra · 30/10/2024 11:15

Why isn't Socktopus the first answer?

Needmorelego · 30/10/2024 11:19

You can get a mini version of Djungelskog 😍

@Needmorelego I'll not show that to dd1 - her aim is to add to her collection of Ikea soft toys 🤣

I do like the sandwich bags & napkins 🤔

@lucysmam I know what you mean.
I had to put my foot down to getting a second giant Djungelskog 😍

Everyone has one (or 2 in my case!) already!! No home is complete without a socktopus!

Yes! I have two already --the first one really confused me as to how to extend his arms 🙈

The half price lego compatible storage boxes.

Yeah a trip to the restaurant... I used to work there and we loved our bacon rolls fresh first thing in the morning! 😂

Well that's OK then.

I also really like the IKEA rechargeable batteries, and the charging cables. The cables last much longer than most.

TheSpottedZebra · 30/10/2024 11:37

Ready to roll gingerbread? Is that back?

Summerhillsquare · 30/10/2024 11:40

The wee make your own gingerbread houses, a folding coffee cup, nice Xmas decs.

StepCombatAttack · 30/10/2024 11:42

Don’t forget your pack of Glimma for those Christmas tea lights.

ScrambledSmegs · 30/10/2024 11:44

Toughned glass food storage boxes with clip lock lids (buy separately) in various sizes. You can cook food in them, they're dishwasher safe - like Pyrex. Absolute game changer. I prepped a lasagne and transported it for a couple of hours in a cool bag with no leaks etc, then cooked it at our destination. The supermarkets are copying them now but genuinely these are the best, the seals don't fall out of the lids when you wash them like Tesco's etc do.

They also come in a metal version which is great for converting into a lunchbox/bento box with plastic inserts.

NoCarbsForMe · 30/10/2024 10:52

Freezer clips

They seem to have changed these. They come in a box now rather than a bag and they're rubbish 🙁

MrsSkylerWhite · 30/10/2024 11:45

Gadget to open different sized lids.

TuftyMarmoset · 30/10/2024 11:49

Lingonberry cordial 😋
The 365+ knives are really good. The medium size one is my go-to knife and they’re quite inexpensive as knives go.
A lifetime supply of tea lights, of course.

menopausalmare · 30/10/2024 11:51

A shower screen squeegee windscreen wiper thingy. And a massive bag of mini daim bars.
